Dive in the unique waters of Julian Rocks Marine Reserve, one of the rare snorkel sites where you can swim with tropical species found in the Great Barrier Reef aswell as marine life from the deep Southern Ocean.
Meet at Byron Bay Dive Centre for your booked time. Here the experienced and qualified instructors will give you a briefing before you complete a dive in their on-site heated pool. Once you are confident and comfortable with the dive equipment and what you need to do once you’re under the water you’ll head out by boat to Julian Rocks Marine Reserve. The journey takes approximately 5 minutes and you’ll be treated to spectacular views of Byron Bay’s coastline and potentially a pod of dolphins who frequently play in the waves.
You’ll enter the water with your instructor who stays with you throughout your dive and guides you around this beautiful garden of hard and soft corals. The unique underwater world of Julian Rocks is a rare mix of tropical and temperate marine life and home to over 500 species, including turtles, manta rays and friendly sharks.
On your return to the dive shop you can have a hot shower before the dive crew help you identify some of the creatures you saw.
