Discover all the highlights of Fraser Island in two fun filled days!
You’ll be picked up from your Rainbow Beach accommodation at approximately 7-7.30am (time will be confirmed once you inform Fraser Explorer of where you’ll be staying) and then have a 15 minute drive to Inskip Point to catch the 8am ferry over to Fraser Island.
Your knowledgeable and passionate guide will take you through these 2 days of adventure, providing you with lots of fascinating information about the island and it’s history. Travel along the beach in a custom designed air conditioned 4 wheel drive to the most beautiful and natural spots.
You’ll start your journey at Central Station, a former logging station, before taking a stroll along the Wanggoolba Creek boardwalk and through Pine Valley to discover extraordinary rainforest growing out of sand.
After your walk cool down in the crystal blue waters of Lake Mckenzie and and relax on the stunning white sand beach that surrounds it.
You’ll then drive down Seventy Five mile beach, not only a spectacular beach but also a National highway and landing strip for aircraft (scenic flight can be booked through your guide at an extra cost).
Next it’s on to Eli Creek to float down the fast flowing waters of this beautiful creek that pours up to 4 million litres of clear fresh water into the ocean every hour.
Back onto the sand highway to Maheno shipwreck, a wreckage that washed ashore during a 1935 cyclone and your last stop of the day, the Pinnacles coloured sands, fascinating technicolour sand formations.
Your guide will drop you off at Eurong Beach Resort, a remote beachfront resort with 2 outdoor pools and a bar onsite, where you’ll have a buffet dinner and stay the night (price based on quad share).
In the morning you’ll have breakfast before climbing to the top of Indian Head for panoramic views of the beach and ocean. Look out for sharks, rays, turtles, and even migrating humpback whales (July – November).
Next it’s time to relax in the Champagne Pools, a natural jacuzzi formed by the ocean’s waves crashing over rocks into shallow sandy pools
Last stop on your adventure is Lake Wabby, an emerald freshwater lake bordered by a giant sand dunes and lush greenery, have a swim or take it easy on the white banks.
Board the 4.30pm ferry back to Inskip Point where your shuttle service will take you back to your Rainbow Beach accommodation (drop-off between 5-5.30pm).
