Discover all the highlights of Fraser Island in one fun filled day!
You’ll be picked up from your Hervey Bay accommodation at approximately 7.30am (time will be confirmed once you inform Fraser Explorer of where you’ll be staying) and then have a 20-30 minute drive to River Heads to catch the 8.30am ferry over to Fraser Island.
Your knowledgeable and passionate guide will take you through this adventurous day out, providing you with lots of fascinating information about the island and it’s history. Travel along the beach in a custom designed air conditioned 4 wheel drive to the most beautiful and natural spots.
You’ll start your journey at Central Station, a former logging station, before taking a stroll along the Wanggoolba Creek boardwalk to discover extraordinary rainforest growing out of sand.
After your walk cool down in the crystal blue waters of Lake Mckenzie and and relax on the stunning white sand beach that surrounds it.
You’ll then drive down Seventy Five mile beach, not only a spectacular beach but also a National highway and landing strip for aircraft (scenic flight can be booked through your guide at an extra cost).
Next it’s on to Eli Creek to float down the fast flowing waters of this beautiful creek that pumps up to 4 million litres of clear fresh water into the ocean every hour.
Back onto the sand highway to Maheno shipwreck, a wreckage that washed ashore during a 1935 cyclone and your last stop of the day, the Pinnacles coloured sands, fascinating technicolour sand formations.
Board the 5.00pm ferry back to River Heads where your shuttle service will take you back to your Hervey Bay accommodation (drop-off between 6.00pm and 7.00pm).
