As we’re sure that you’re aware Australia is currently in the midst of an unprecedented disaster that is affecting large areas of the country.
We’re so grateful for the work of the volunteers and Rural Fire Services (RFS) in helping the affected families and communities. Without their tireless efforts many more people would have been affected by this catastrophe.
Many rural areas have been affected by this crisis. With almost 2000 houses having been lost so far, the whole world is watching as the country rallys together to help those that had their lives turned upside down.
After the overwhelming support of international visitors many of the Happy Travels staff and customers have been asking how best they can help.
Many people currently living or travelling in Australia, have happy memories of visiting here or just want to help and don’t know how.
The Australian Red Cross volunteers have stepped up to provide aid and comfort to people in need. The emergency teams have welcomed families fleeing from the fires in more than 69 evacuation and recovery centers across New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia and South Australia. They are delivering survival essentials such as food and water, arranging emergency accommodation, locating missing loved ones, and starting a program that will help people meet their immediate needs.
To help with the effort the Australian Tourism Industry Bushfire Fund has been created to help raise money for this valuable human effort, donating directly to the Red Crosses frontline efforts.
At the time of writing $22,297 or the goal of $250,000 has already been raised.
Please donate anything you can to the effort, any amount, large or small will help:
