Day 1: Sydney Start & Overnight Bus

Your epic 30 day East Coast Australia adventure begins! Start in spectacular Sydney, the most famous city in Australia known for its wonderful beaches and landmarks like the Sydney Opera House, and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Take the day to explore and get some bucket list worthy photos, before getting ready to embark on the overnight Greyhound bus to Byron Bay.

Day 2: Explore Byron Bay

This morning, you’ll arrive bright and early to check into your Byron Bay accommodation for the next three nights. You’ll be staying at the quirky Arts Factory hostel, known for its jungle surroundings and hippie vibes. The classic way to experience Byron Bay. Head out and spend your afternoon chilling out on one of the local beaches, with gorgeous turquoise water and picturesque views of Cape Byron Lighthouse.

Day 3: Dolphin Kayaking

Up and at it, because this morning the dolphins are calling! Head out for your morning kayaking with dolphins tour, one of the best experiences to have in the bay. Cruise out into the crystal clear water and see dolphins up close as they play in the waves around you. Your expert guide knows exactly the spots to take you for the best chances to see them. Enjoy a classic Aussie snack on the beach before spending the afternoon exploring Byron Bay’s vibrant storefronts. Follow this up with a night of bar hopping and you’re sure to be content.

Day 4: Surf Lesson

Start the morning with a surf lesson at a beach with the perfect beginner waves. After a quick stretch and beach lesson, hit the water with your boards and your awesome instructor will have you riding in no time! This afternoon, why not make the most of your last night in Byron with a walk to the Cape Byron Lighthouse at sunset, one of the most spectacular on the East Coast.

Day 5: Bus to Surfers Paradise

After a short bus ride up to the famous city of Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast, you will check into your accommodation, ready to explore Australia’s equivalent to Miami. Walk down Miami Beach and take a picture under the Surfers Paradise sign before heading out to party with your new mates.

Day 6: Explore Surfers Paradise

Today is the perfect chance to take advantage of the adrenaline side of Surfers Paradise. With more than five massive theme parks, choose one or all, and make a day of it. After returning from the action, stop into Burleigh Heads for a walk in the parkland, a trip to Snapper Rocks in Coolangatta, or a sunset at any of the lovely Gold Coast beaches or lookout points.

Day 7: Bus to Brisbane

Start the day by waking up and checking out of your Surfers Paradise accommodation, and make your way up to Brisbane. The river city, known for its parks, shopping, and foodie lifestyle, has something for everyone as you check into your central hostel for the next two nights.

Day 8: Explore Brisbane

Today, feel free to get in touch with your creative side in Brisbane with a visit to the museums and art galleries, conveniently situated next to a beautiful expansive parkland with its very own man made beach to cool down in. Take in a movie at the cinema or wander through the West End as you gather any last minute things for the journey north out of the cities.

Day 9: Bus to Noosa

Get up and get ready as you check out of your hostel and you get ready to say hello to Noosa as you make your way to the Sunshine Coast. Check in to your hostel, drop down your bags, and explore the beautiful beach side town, home of surfing and amazing national parks. Your accommodation for the next two nights in a backpacker favourite, so make the most of their poolside bar and tropical vibes.

Day 10: Canoe the Noosa Everglades

Start off your day with a trip to the stunning Noosa Everglades. One of only two Everglades systems in the world, today’s trip will be extra special. You will cruise and canoe through a stunning place of serene natural beauty, bursting with rare animal and plant species. Don’t forget to pop into the local brewery at Habitat Noosa on the way back to try a few of their many beers, produced with water from the everglades underground reservoirs.

Overnight: Bounce | Noosa

Day 11: Explore Noosa

Wake up and get stoked for a day on the beach and wander down to Hastings Street, the most vibrant street of Noosa, with its many boutique clothing stores and inviting restaurants. Settle in on the main beach and enjoy its crisp waves and remarkable backdrop. It’s the perfect place to work on your tan or test your new found surf skills with a board from one of the many local surf shops. Maybe take a walk along the Noosa headland and seek out the secret fairy pools for a quick dip. In the evening, you’ll attend a compulsory 6PM safety briefing at your hostel for your upcoming K’gari (Fraser Island) adventure.

Day 12: K’gari 4WD Adventure

The day has finally come, you’re off on an epic 4WD adventure to K’gari Fraser Island! The tour departs first thing from Nomads Hostel in Noosa. First head straight to Rainbow Beach where you will pick up your 4WD and get acquainted with your tour group and the vehicle. Get the vehicle ferry over to K’gari, and the fun begins. Drive along the famous 75 mile beach, K’gari’s only highway, with epic views of the ocean on one side and the colourful sandstone dunes on the other. Head to Lake Wabby or Lake Birrabeen for your first stop on the island, for a refreshing dip and some fun games. After lunch, explore the rainforest at Wanggoolba Creek and Central Station, and take in the beautiful sights and sounds of the diversity around you. Then, drive through rugged terrain to your beachside and dingo safe campsite, where you can enjoy sunset and dinner with your group around the campfire. With no light pollution for miles and miles, be sure to check out the incredible stars at night.

Day 13: K'gari 4WD Adventure

Enjoy a hearty breakfast before heading out in your 4WD convoy for more Fraser Island highlights. Visit Eli Creek, fresh and inviting, and cruise down the natural lazy river in a floaty. Check out the world famous Maheno Shipwreck sinking into the sand and learn about its interesting history. Next up cruise over to Indian Head Lookout and the Champagne Pools, which offers breathtaking views of the turquoise ocean and coastline. Take a dip in the waters of the Champagne Pools, and you’ll really feel like you’re in paradise. Head back to camp for your final night with the group, enjoy dinner and some drinks and under night under the twinkling stars, surrounded by the sound of nature.

Day 14: K’gari 4WD Adventure

It’s your final day on K’gari, but the adventure’s not over yet. After breakfast and packing up camp, drive to the iconic Lake Mckenzie where the bluest water and purest sand awaits you. This freshwater lake is the perfect spot for a swim and some games. Then enjoy your final lunch on the island before making your way back along 75 mile beach to the ferry, and return to Rainbow Beach. Reax on the ride back to Noosa and reminisce on the epic adventure you’ve just had. Maybe hop on over to KB’s bar in Noosa for a post-tour night out.

Day 15: Free day in Noosa & Overnight Bus

Make the most of your last day in Noosa. Spend the morning on the beach, check out any shops you haven’t already, or take a walk on one of the trails through gorgeous national park. Tonight you’ll embark on the overnight Greyhound bus from Noosa to Airlie Beach.

Day 16: Arrive in Airlie Beach

This morning, you’ll check into your amazing Airlie Beach accommodation. Check out the fantastic Airlie Beach Lagoon, explore the town’s lively shops, and spend your evening enjoying Airlie Beach’s iconic nightlife.

Day 17: Jetski

You’re in for a thrill this morning with a Jetski adventure enjoying some of Airlie Beach’s beautiful bays. Drive your own jetski out to view the Whitsunday Islands from the protection of the coastline, before exploring some beaches and enjoying some turtle spotting. Your afternoon is free to do as you please, taking in the wonderful Airlie Beach lifestyle.

Day 18: Scenic Flight

Airlie Beach is the town that keeps on giving. This morning, hop on a Scenic Flight and get a bird’s eye view of some of the 74 Whitsunday Islands. This tour is an absolute favourite among travellers and locals alike. You’ll get a chance to see Hill Inlet and picturesque Whitehaven Beach from the sky before flying out to the Great Barrier Reef. See unbeatable views of one of the most famous reef locations, Heart Reef, surrounded by breathtaking turquoise waters.

Day 19: Explore Airlie Beach

Enjoy a hang out day in Airlie Beach by the lagoon, get yourself a breakfast at one of the many stellar cafes, or venture out of town to some of the serene nature offerings like Cedar Creek Falls or the Honeyeater Lookout trail. If you’re looking for more thrills, consider adding on a skydive over the scenic islands for an experience you’ll never forget. Tonight, start preparing for the sailing adventure of a lifetime as you’re heading out to the Whitsundays Islands next morning.

Day 20: Whitsundays Sailing Adventure

Set sail to the iconic Whitsunday Islands, home of epic snorkelling sites, exciting trails, and world famous beaches. Your itinerary may change depending on weather, tides, and the group’s desires, but no matter what you’ll be experiencing some of the best that the Whitsundays have to offer. Today set off for your first island destination, Whitsunday Island, with the chance to explore the north and possibly south end of Whitehaven Beach. Voted one of the most beautiful beaches in the world for years now, the swirling white sands and pristine beach will take your breath away. Chill out in the water with some baby stingrays, known to inhabit the area. Enjoy guided bush walks before heading off to your first snorkelling spot before sailing to a protected bay to spend your first evening on the yacht. Enjoy a freshly cooked dinner on the deck with some drinks and spend some time bonding with your group and crew.

Day 21: Whitsundays Sailing Adventure

Wake up bright and early to a freshly cooked breakfast. Today you can look forward to two other snorkels at two different beautiful locations. See vibrant coral reefs and a thriving marine ecosystem, spotting tropical fish, turtles, and maybe even manta rays! Enjoy more guided bush walks to some epic lookout locations, and learn a bit about the history of the islands. Enjoy a sunset beach hangout at an awesome spot like Chalkies Beach or Haslewood Island, before a final night on deck enjoying fresh dinner and some fun group games and activities. Stargaze and watch the night time marine life dance around the boat and let the calm water gently rock you to sleep.

Day 22: Whitsundays Sailing Adventure

Make the most of your final day sailing with a relaxed morning and another chance to snorkel an unforgettable reef location. Finally, it’s time to sail back to Airlie Beach, but you can still enjoy the scenic islands as they pass you by with the wind in your hair. Arrive back on the mainland by about 3:30pm, and keep the adventure going with a catch up after party at a local bar with your tour group and crew.

Day 23: Bus to Townsville, Ferry to Magnetic Island

Today, you’ll make your way to Townsville where a ferry will take you to Magnetic Island. Your ferry crossing is included in this East Coast Package. Check in for two amazing nights at your beach side hostel. Kick back and relax on one of the island’s many iconic beaches, whilst you enjoy a complimentary glass of champagne and welcome dinner.

Day 24: Explore Magnetic Island

Today is yours to freely explore this fantastic Island. There are endless activities to do here – relax at one of the many beautiful beaches where you can snorkel or kayak. Hike to the Forts lookout, and keep your eyes peeled for sleepy koala’s and roaming rock wallabies. Or hire an iconic ‘Barbie Car’ to jet around the island in style. Enjoy your evening by the pool with a drink in hand, or head down to the beach for a bit of awesome stargazing.

Day 25: Ferry to Townsville, Bus to Cairns

Enjoy your final morning on island time then jump on the ferry as you head to your final destination, Cairns. Check into your central accommodation, spend the rest of your day enjoying the culture and nightlife, and get excited to explore the incredible tropical surroundings of the adventure capital of Australia.

Day 26: Tully River Rafting

Today you’ll head to Tully River where you’ll be partaking in an exhilarating White Water Rafting tour on grade 3 and 4 rapids. Meet your awesome river guide and churn along white water to tackle epic rapids from the top to the lower section of the river. After a hearty dinner, head back into Cairns city where you can enjoy cheap drinks and an epic social atmosphere.

Day 27: Great Barrier Reef Intro Dive

Today, you will be part of a unique reef experience, catering for small groups only, and for both experienced and first time snorkelers and divers. The tour will have a very relaxed, chilled, tropical vibe, allowing you to experience both the reef and a sand cay. An epic spot for an intro dive, you’ll have an experienced guide with you every step of the way, so you can simply enjoy and take in the incredible sights of the famous Great Barrier Reef. You’ll also get to enjoy a later departure time and return to Cairns at sunset. Today will be a chilled day with mind-blowing reef to explore.

Day 28: Cape Tribulation and Daintree Rainforest

Today you head up to Cape Tribulation in the Daintree Rainforest, known as a hotbed of wildlife and tropical plants. It’s an eco-warrior paradise. You will get picked up from your accommodation by your quirky and knowledgeable guide and journey north, stopping at remote beaches and pristine water holes as you go. Once you arrive in the Daintree Rainforest, you will take part in a crocodile cruise along the river, spotting the prehistoric creatures in their natural habitat. On the way back down, you will stop off at a few viewing points to take in the scenery before being dropped back at your accommodation just in time for a night out.

Day 29: Atherton Tablelands

This morning you’ll be venturing into the depths of the Australian Rainforests on the hunt for watering holes. The Atherton Tablelands is a circuit of waterfalls that need to be seen to be believed. You’ll spend your day swimming, jumping, and sliding into some of the most picturesque waterfalls and lakes you’ll see on your Australia trip. Try the famous “hair flick” at Milla Milla and try your best to recreate the TV adverts. Arrive back in Cairns for a final night of partying.

Do you offer payment plans?

Absolutely, we understand that paying off a big trip in one go isn’t always that easy. We offer flexible payment plans to suit all types of travellers with zero interest or fee’s (minimum $100AUD deposit required).

Do I need travel insurance?

We endorse the recommendation of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade that all travelers take out travel insurance. If you already have Travel Insurance please understand that it is your responsibility to ensure that your Travel Insurance covers you for all of the adventure style travel you have booked with us.

Can I book a package but travel in the reverse direction?

Absolutely, just let us know your preferred start and finish location and we’ll make it work.

What is the best way to travel Australia?

There is definitely no wrong way. We recommend either taking a WHIMIT or Hop on Hop off bus pass such as Greyhound or renting a campervan with some mates and hitting the open road. If you feel like getting pretty adventurous and want to get amongst the true Australian terrain, a 4WD may be better suited for you. Enquire now and we can help you find the most suitable transport option.

What if something comes up and I can't make my tour?

We get it. Life is all about the unexpected, especially when you are travelling. If you are unable to make your pre-arranged tour you will need to reach out to our support email so we can give you a helping hand. In all cases we strongly recommend having a valid travel insurance policy which covers you for unexpected cancellations.
