This trip is fully flexible this means that you can choose whatever start date and finish date/location you like. You can also add or take away any nights that you like. We recommend starting this from either Cairns, Sydney or Melbourne. Here is an example itinerary if you were to start from Sydney to Cairns.
Day 1: Sydney
Your Adventure begins with a day of exploring the city, consider starting with everyone’s bucket list location, Bondi beach, where you can check out the local markets or go for a splash in the waves. Head to one of the many local restaurants for lunch before taking a stroll in the city’s lush Botanic gardens. Late afternoon, you will want to catch the scenic ferry ride over to Manly to watch the sun go down and wind down from your day.
Day 2: Sydney
Today we recommend starting with a train ride up to the world renowned Blue mountains, jump off at your stop, Katoomba, before heading off and stretching your legs on one of the many bush walks through the stunning landscape, with varying levels of difficulty, there is a walk for everybody. After lunch, snatch a selfie with the remarkable three sisters rock formations or gaze over Wentworth falls before taking the train back to Sydney reflect on the day with cocktails or a beer by circular quay.
Day 3: Sydney
Last day in sydney, means last chance to get those must take selfies with the cities famous landmarks; the Opera house, the Sydney Harbour bridge and even the fun filled waterside theme park, Luna Park. grab a bite to eat in the afternoon and pick up some snacks as you prepare for the trip up to Byron bay
Embark on the overnight bus from Sydney to Byron Bay
Day 4: Byron Bay
This morning you’ll arrive bright and early and check into your central Byron Bay accommodation for the next 3 nights. Then test yourself at the great Australian sport of surfing, 1/2 Day surf lesson to welcome you to the bay.
Day 5: Byron Bay
Enjoy a free day around Byron to explore. We recommend checking out the local beaches or hit up some of the top sights such as The Lighthouse or The Farm Byron Bay.
Day 6: Byron Bay
Up and at it, today we recommend you not sleep in, because the dolphins are calling, whether it’s snorkelling, kayaks or scuba diving, there are options for everyone to check out Byron’s vibrant wildlife on display. Follow this up with a tour of the local micro brewery scene and your sure to be content.
Day 7: Nimbin / Byron Bay
Today we recommend waking up and hiring a car or jumping on a day trip out to one of Byron Bay’s most famous destinations, Nimbin. Spend the day driving through the hinterlands, visiting waterfalls, exploring the small town of Nimbin and enjoying a traditional pub lunch. Even with time for some shopping before a relaxing drive back to Byron.
Day 8: Surfers Paradise
After a short bus ride up to the famous city of Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast, you will check into your accommodation, ready to explore Australia’s answer to Miami. Walk down Miami Beach and take a picture under the Surfers Paradise sign, before heading out to party with your new mates.
Day 9: Surfers Paradise
Ready to go? Today is the perfect chance to take advantage of Surfers Paradise’s adrenaline side. With more than 5 massive theme parks, choose one or all and make a day of it. After returning from the action, stop into burleigh heads for a walk in the parkland or a beer and watch the sunset.
Day 10: Noosa
Start the day by waking up and checking out of your Surfers Paradise accommodation, ready to say hello to Noosa as you make your way to the Sunshine Coast. Check in to your hostel, drop down your bags and explore the beautiful beach side town, home of surfing and amazing national parks.
Day 11: Noosa Everglades / Noosa
Today start off your day with a trip to the stunning noosa everglades, the Noosa Everglades are one of 2 in the world!! Making this day a very special one, you will kayak through a stunning place of serene natural beauty, bursting with rare animal and plant species. Don’t forget to pop into the local brewery to try a few of their many beers, produced with water from the everglades underground reservoirs.
Day 12: Noosa
Wake up and get stoked for a day on the beach, wander down hastings street, the high street of noosa, with its many boutique clothing stores and inviting restaurants. Settle in on the main beach, with its crisp waves and remarkable backdrop, it’s the perfect place to work on your tan or test your new found surf skills with a board from one of the many local surf shops. Finish your day with a few beers at the mouth of the river as you watch the sun go down over the water.
In the evening you’ll attend a compulsory 6pm safety briefing at your hostel for your upcoming Fraser Island adventure.
Day 13: Fraser Island
Leave your hostel early morning and travel up and over to Fraser island. Drive up the 75 mile beach to Eurong where you head inland towards Lake McKenzie. Arrive at Lake McKenzie and take a dip in these incredibly pure, clear waters. Drive to Central Station where you eat lunch, walk along the waters of the very special Wanggoolba Creek and learn Fraser Island’s history. You then leave for a drive back to 75-mile beach and onto your camp. Arrive at your incredible campsite and chill after a long day or head up to Corrigin Sandblow for an amazing sunset. Dinner time! Cook a BBQ together with your new Fraser family, spend the night socialising together next to a campfire or under the covered seating area.

Day 14: Fraser Island
Wake up early (hangovers are no excuse!) and enjoy breakfast with everyone. Arrive at the Champagne Pools to cleanse under waves crashing over into the natural rock pools, creating the bubbles where it gets it name. Then back to the cars again for a short drive to your next destination. Climb the stunning Indian Head (one of the few rocks formations on the island) to spot the amazing marine wildlife that can be seen off of Fraser Island. If luck is on your side, you can normally spot: humpback whales (August – October), sharks, sea turtles, dolphins, huge rays and many schools of tropical fish. Next a drive back to your camp for lunch and then onto our next location. A short drive down the beach is the largest creek on the eastern beach; Eli Creek. Take a walk up the boardwalk with a rubber ring and float down these serene waters, which pumps up to 4 million litres of fresh water into the sea every hour. The second to last location of the day is a short drive from Eli Creek and your camp; the Maheno shipwreck. As the sun lowers in the sky watch the rusty wreck against the sea sky and incredible coloured sands seen up the coast. Finally, a short stop at the Pinnacles on the way back to your camp. Seen from the beach, this sand formation is a prime example of the coloured sands seen all up the Fraser coastline. Arriving back at your camp to take a breather after an amazing day, wash away the sand in the amazing amenities block just a short walk from our campsite…… then more food! As part of your Fraser family you cook spaghetti bolognaise together with garlic bread followed by another night of socialising under some of the southern hemisphere’s most spectacular stars.

Day 15: Fraser Island / Noosa
Wake up for your last day on Fraser to another quick and simple breakfast before setting off to our final location on the island. Drive a moderate distance down the Eastern Beach to the entrance of Lake Wabby. Here we will walk for around 40-45 mins down a beautiful sand track through the bush and out onto the Hammerstone Sandblow. Located a short walk along the sand blow Lake Wabby is the deepest lake on Fraser Island so be sure to take a dip in its healing waters and chill next on its shores. After our lunch on the beach, it is time to make our way back to the barge and back to Noosa. Arrive back at your hostel in Noosa late afternoon (time depending on the tides), and chill for one last night with your new Fraser family!

Day 16: Agnes Water / 1770
Today you take the bus to Agnes water/1770. On arrival you will settle into your hostel and grab a beer in anticipation of your days ahead.
Day 17: Agnes Water / 1770
Explore the headland or wander down to deep water national park, before a bite to eat at the delicious Mango tree Hotel in 1770. In the afternoon, we recommend taking part in the classic “Chopper motorbike tour” with Scooteroo, with the wind in your hair and the rev of a motorbike between your legs, it’s an epic experience.
Day 18: Agnes Water / 1770
Grab a towel or jump on a surf lesson, today is a recovery day, chill on the beach or float in the water and reflect on your journey so far. Tonight you will be taking the overnight Bus to Airlie Beach
Day 19: Airlie Beach
This morning you’ll check into your amazing Airlie Beach accommodation. Check out the fantastic Airlie Beach lagoon then start preparing for your Whitsundays trip.
Day 20: Whitsundays
Sail out to one of the Whitsundays most picturesque islands and jump in the water to experience what all this fuss about Whitsundays Snorkelling is about. You sail around to your first sleeping location in the protected waters of Whitsunday Island. Settle into the evening on the deck with one of your beer/wine’s and tuck into some freshly cooked dinner, sourced locally of course.

Day 21: Whitsundays
Wake up bright and early to a freshly cooked breakfast. Today, depending entirely on weather/tides you can look forward to two other snorkels at two different beautiful locations around the islands OR a quick 10 minute bushwalk up to Hill Inlet Lookout, take a quick pic of Whitehaven Beach, then a short stroll on to the world famous Whitehaven Beach.

Day 22: Whitsundays / Airlie Beach
Wake up early again this morning to breakfast and the potential for another snorkel. With the hope to get one more snorkel before heading back to Airlie Beach. Check back into your hostel and join in the free after party with the crew and new friends. Meal(s) included : Breakfast
Day 23: Airlie Beach
Lay by the lagoon, smash some eggs benedict or just sleep in, after your sailing adventure, you’re gonna want to recover. In the afternoon, take a trip out to Cedar creek falls for a relaxing and rejuvenating swim before a final laid back night in Airlie.
Day 24: Magnetic Island
Today you’ll make your way to Townsville where a ferry will take you to Magnetic Island. Check in for 2 amazing nights at one of the beach side resorts> Then kick back and relax on one of the island’s many iconic beaches, with your complimentary glass of Champagne.

Day 25: Magnetic Island Today is yours free to explore, relax or hire the well known barbie cars. Meal(s) included : Breakfast
Day 26: Mission Beach
Board your bus and make your way to the tropical surrounds of mission beach, upon arrival check into your hostel and freely explore the local area.
Day 27: Mission Beach
Today you’re getting high as a bird, with a 15000ft skydive over the stunning tropical beaches and reef. You land on the beach like a true action hero and the buzz will make you feel so alive. After the skydive, grab a cocktail at the local bar and reflect on what is ahead.
Day 28: Cairns
Your final journey will be from mission Beach to Cairns. Arrive in the tropical North Queensland city and check into your central accommodation. Spend the rest of your day and evening enjoying the culture and nightlife. Make sure you get a good night’s sleep for your Great Barrier Reef trip the following day.
Day 29: Great Barrier Reef / Cairns
Today you will be part of a unique reef experience, catering for small groups only, and for both experienced and first time snorkelers and divers. The tour will have a very relaxed, chilled, tropical vibe, allowing passengers to experience both the reef and a sand cay. We will have a later departure time and return to Cairns at sunset. Island Diver will focus on a fun and chilled day with mind-blowing reef to explore.

Day 30: Atherton Tablelands / Cairns Today you’ll be venturing into the depths of the Australian Rainforests on the hunt for watering holes. The Atherton Tablelands is a circuit of waterfalls that need to be seen to be believed. You’ll spend your day swimming, jumping and sliding into some of the most picturesque waterfalls and lakes you’ll see on your Australia trip. Try the famous “hair flick” at Milla Milla and try your best to recreate the tv adverts. Arrive back in Cairns this evening.
This morning you will have a completely free day. Add on a rainforest trip or bungy jump if you want to experience even more of Cairns.
