Day 3 (Morning waterfall and Hinterland Tour)
The final day is here, check out your hostel in the morning and make your way to the main bus stop in town. Here you’ll be picked up for the final (and possibly the best) bit of your journey.
Head out through hinterlands of Byron stopping first at Killen Falls (perfect for a swim). The water here stays cool all year round so during the hot summer months it’s a great spot to cool off. Keep your eyes peeled for freshwater turtles whilst enjoying a swim beneath the magical caves & rainforest.
Following your first swim you will make your way to Lennox Head for a scenic walk along the headland. Large cliff faces, epic ocean waves and pristine walkways make a path for a fantastic scenic stroll, just keep your eyes peeled for marine life such as dolphins, turtles, rays and whales (seasonal).
Next stop is the magical Lake Ainsworth. This beautiful Ti-Tree lake is perfect for a swim and is home to sacred waters. The locals believe that this lake has special healing powers. All we know is that it’s great for your body and you’ll be leaving feeling fresh as a daisy.
Lunch is included, you’ll stop off at a beachfront cafe (overlooking the surf) for a freshly prepared bite to eat and drink.
Last stop of the day is at Broken Head Nature Reserve. Here you will take a final guided walk around the headland overlooking one of Byron Bay’s most premium surfing spots. You can expect some incredible views of waves, secluded beaches and a beautiful rainforest.
You’ll be dropped back into town in the afternoon where you can make your way to your next destination.
