Overnight bus from Sydney to Byron Bay
Your adventure kicks off in stunning Sydney city where tonight, you'll hop on board the overnight bus that will take you to the iconic coastal town of Byron Bay.
Day 1: Byron Bay
This morning you'll arrive bright and early and check into your central Byron Bay accommodation for the next 2 nights.

Day 2: Nimbin / Byron Bay
Today you’ll be waking up and joining your fellow backpackers on a day trip out to one of Byron Bay’s most famous destinations, Nimbin. Spend the day driving through the hinterlands, visiting waterfalls, exploring the small town of Nimbin and enjoying a traditional pub lunch, with time for some shopping before a relaxing drive back to Byron.

Day 3: Noosa
Start the day by waking up and checking out of your Byron Bay accommodation, ready to say hello to Noosa as you make your way to the Sunshine Coast. Check in to your hostel, drop down your bags and explore the beautiful beach side town, home of surfing and amazing national parks.
Day 4: Rainbow Beach
Today you'll make your way up to Rainbow Beach. Check into your FREE beachfront accommodation! You'll be staying at this hostel for a total of 2 nights, one before and one after your Fraser Island tour - with daily free guided walks to the Carlo Sandblow and free breakfasts, in the evening you'll attend a compulsory 6pm safety briefing at your hostel for your upcoming Fraser Island tour.
Day 5: Fraser Island
Leave your hostel at 7am sharp, drive up the first portion of 75 mile beach to Eurong where we head inland towards Lake McKenzie. Arrive at Lake McKenzie and take a dip in these incredibly pure, clear waters. Words do not do this amazing lake any justice. Drive to Central Station where we eat lunch, walk along the waters of the very special Wanggoolba Creek and learn Fraser Island’s history. You then leave for a drive back to 75-mile beach and onto your camp. Arrive at your incredible campsite and chill after a long day or head up to Corrigin Sandblow for an amazing sunset. Dinner time! Cook a BBQ together with your new Fraser family, spend the night socialising together next to a campfire or under the covered seating area.

Day 6: Fraser Island
Wake up early (hangovers are no excuse!) to a breakfast of toast and cereal before getting back in the cars to head further north. Arrive at the Champagne Pools to cleanse under waves crashing over into the natural rock pools, creating the bubbles where it gets it name. Then back to the cars again for a short drive to your next destination. Climb the stunning Indian Head (one of the few rocks formations on the island) to spot the amazing marine wildlife that can be seen off of Fraser Island. If luck is on your side, you can normally spot: humpback whales (August – October), sharks, sea turtles, dolphins, huge rays and many schools of tropical fish. Next a drive back to your camp for lunch and then onto our next location. A short drive down the beach is the largest creek on the eastern beach; Eli Creek. Take a walk up the boardwalk with a rubber ring and float down these serene waters, which pumps up to 4 million litres of fresh water into the sea every hour. The second to last location of the day is a short drive from Eli Creek and your camp; the Maheno shipwreck. As the sun lowers in the sky watch the rusty wreck against the sea sky and incredible coloured sands seen up the coast. Finally, a short stop at the Pinnacles on the way back to your camp. Seen from the beach, this sand formation is a prime example of the coloured sands seen all up the Fraser coastline. Arriving back at your camp to take a breather after an amazing day, wash away the sand in the amazing amenities block just a short walk from our campsite…… then more food! As part of your Fraser family you cook spaghetti bolognaise together with garlic bread followed by another night of socialising under some of the southern hemisphere’s most spectacular stars.

Day 7: Fraser Island / Rainbow Beach
Wake up for your last day in paradise to another quick and simple breakfast before setting off to our final location on Fraser Island. Drive a moderate distance down the Eastern Beach to the entrance of Lake Wabby. Here we will walk for around 40-45 mins down a beautiful sand track through the bush and out onto the Hammerstone Sandblow. Located a short walk along the sand blow Lake Wabby is the deepest lake on Fraser Island so be sure to take a dip and chill next on its shores. After our lunch on the beach, it is time to make our way back to the barge and Rainbow Beach but not before hunting for the mysterious Eugarie, Arrive back at your hostel in Rainbow Beach between 1pm and 4:30pm, (dependant on the tides), and chill for one last night with your new Fraser Family!

Day 8: 1770
This afternoon you'll hop on your bus and take a quick journey up to the east coasts mini Byron Bay, 1770. Check into your hostel Southern Cross and get ready for a relaxing couple of days of beaches, chilling and surf.
Day 9: 1770 / Surf Lesson
A full day to be spent in 1770 chilling out and enjoying your last opportunity to surf up the east coast, including another night stay at Southern Cross.
Day 10: 1770
Final relaxing day along the beach, with time for another surf lesson if you fancy, before you hop on your overnight bus up to Airlie Beach.
Day 11: Airlie Beach
This morning you'll check into your amazing Airlie Beach accommodation. Check out the fantastic Airlie Beach lagoon then start preparing for your Whitsunday’s trip.
Day 12: Whitsundays
Sail out to one of the Whitsundays most picturesque islands and jump in the water to experience what all this fuss about Whitsundays Snorkelling is about and have a go at scuba diving also. While you sail around to our first sleeping location in the protected waters of Whitsunday Island. Settle into the evening on the deck with one of your beer/wine's and tuck into some freshly cooked dinner, sourced locally of course. Weather and tide dependent.

Day 13: Whitsundays
Wake up bright and early to a freshly cooked breakfast. Today, depending entirely on weather/tides you can look forward to two other snorkels at two different beautiful locations around the islands OR a quick 10 minute bushwalk up to Hill Inlet lookout, take a quick pic of Whitehaven Beach, then a short stroll on to the world famous Whitehaven Beach. Also expect a fully catered Lunch and Dinner 99% of the time we can expect to get to Whitehaven Beach. Weather/Tide Dependent

Day 14: Whitsundays / Airlie Beach
Wake up early again this morning to breakfast and to soak in your final day on the Whitsundays. More beaches and snorkels before heading back to Airlie Beach late afternoon where you have another nights stay in Nomads. Meal(s) included : Breakfast, Lunch
Day 15: Airlie Beach
Today the day is yours to do what you'd like in Airlie and tonight you'll make your way overnight up to Cairns arriving bright and early in the morning the next day.
Day 16: Cairns
Arrive in the tropical north Queensland city and check into your central accommodation. Spend the rest of your day and evening enjoying the culture and nightlife. Make sure you get a good nights sleep for your Great Barrier Reef trip the following day.
Day 17: Great Barrier Reef / Cairns
Today you will be part of a unique reef experience, catering for small groups only, and for both experienced and first time snorkelers and divers. The tour will have a very relaxed, chilled, tropical vibe, allowing passengers to experience both the reef and a sand cay. We will have a later departure time and return to Cairns at sunset. Island Diver will focus on a fun and chilled day with mind-blowing reef to explore.
