See all the highlights of the Daintree and and Cape Tribulation in one magnificent day.
Start your day with a pick up from your accommodation in Cairns or Port Douglas before taking a spectacular scenic coastal drive along the sparkling Coral Sea into the Daintree National Park.
Your first stop will be at Mossman Gorge, a stunning natural wonder carved out by the cold mountain waters of Mossman River that wind through large granite boulders. On arrival at the gorge you will participate in ‘Welcome to Country’ and smoking ceremony by one of the traditional owners of the land, the Kuku Yulanji tribe. After which you’ll have the opportunity to swim in the cascading waters and magnificent pools surrounded by abundant rainforest, a truly idyllic spot.
You’ll then take a ferry across the Daintree River into some of the world’s oldest rainforest. Your experienced and knowledgeable guide will give expert information on the diversity you’ll encounter as you take the 45 minute walk across the Marrdja Boardwalk.
Next it’s a short drive further North to Cape Tribulation where you’ll have lunch followed by a relaxing walk along the beach, before heading back towards Cairns. On the way you can make an optional stop (time permitting) at Floravilla, which offers 26 flavours of ice cream including goji berry with rainforest honey and coconut ginger. You’ll also make a stop at Alexandra Range lookout for a photo opportunity of the sweeping views of the Coral Sea and Daintree river and rainforest.
Your last stop will be at the Daintree River for your Wildlife River Cruise, where you’ll have a chance to spot crocodiles and other wildlife while learning all about it’s fragile ecosystem. Then it’s a scenic drive through the picturesque beachside village of Port Douglas before being dropped back at your accommodation.
