Starting early in the day and travelling in a comfortable, air conditioned 4×4 vehicle that really can go anywhere, this is a one day experience second to none on Fraser Island.
You’ll be picked up from your Rainbow Beach accommodation at approximately 7-7.30am (time will be confirmed once you inform Fraser Explorer of where you’ll be staying) and then have a 15 minute drive to Inskip Point to catch the 8am ferry over to the world’s largest sand island.
Your knowledgeable and passionate guide will take you through this adventurous day out, providing you with lots of fascinating information about the island and its history.
Your first stop will be at the historical Central Station, a former logging station, before taking a stroll along the Wanggoolba Creek boardwalk to discover extraordinary rainforest growing out of sand.
After your walk cool down in the crystal blue waters of the world famous Lake Mckenzie and and relax on the stunning white sand beach that surrounds it.
You’ll then drive down Seventy Five mile beach, not only a spectacular beach but also a National highway and landing strip for aircraft (scenic flight can be booked through your guide at an extra cost).
Next it’s on to Eli Creek to float down the fast flowing waters of this beautiful creek that pumps up to 4 million litres of clear fresh water into the ocean every hour.
Back onto the sand highway to Maheno shipwreck, a wreckage that washed ashore during a 1935 cyclone and your last stop of the day, the Pinnacles coloured sands, fascinating technicolour sand formations.
Board the 4.30pm ferry back to In-Skip Point where your shuttle service will take you back to your Rainbow Beach accommodation (drop-off between 5-5.30pm).
