Located in the beating heart of the North island of New Zealand, Roturua, is where you will find this award winning cultural attraction.

From the start of the journey visitors are swept away by master storytellers who will share customs, traditions and their way of life. The journey begins with Maori elders taking you back in time with their fascinating stories. The incredible 200 year old ancient Tawa Forest is the backdrop where you will enjoy displays of art, and of course, the world famous Haka, performed by the Maori people. The Te Pā Tū Maori Village is one of the best ways to immerse yourself in the Maori culture. You will leave the experience having felt the hearts and souls of the Maori people and their spiritual way of living.

Trip Intinerary

Evening Cultural Experience Itinerary

The start of the experience begins with your transfer from your accommodation picking you at the designated pick up time (Central Rotorua).

You will be welcomed to the Te Pā Tū Moari Village with a traditional welcome ceremony performed by the Maori people.

After your welcome ceremony, you will experience the pre-European village which is an interactive tour where you interact with the characters and cultures of that time.

You will then view the Hangi meal being lifted.

This is followed by an amazing and entertaining cultural experience.

Time to sit down and feast on the traditional Hangi buffet dinner and traditional New Zealand desserts.

Do I need to reconfirm my bookings?

All bookings must be reconfirmed 48 hours in advance by contacting your tour provider directly using the contact information listed on your tour voucher.

What should I do if my trip is cancelled due to bad weather?

You may either re-schedule directly with the supplier or you can email our support team on [email protected] and include your voucher number, name of product you booked, planned departure date and your contact details. Once you’ve emailed us, you can drop us a line at +61 2 5633 1149.

Do you book tours with flexible dates? If so, how long are they valid for?

Yes, we do have open dated/flexible tickets available. Most tour vouchers are valid for 12 months from date of purchase, however please be aware that you may be subject to supplier price fluctuations. All ticket validity is specified on the tour voucher. If you are unsure of the validity of your voucher, just ask one of our wonderful staff.

Do I need travel insurance?

We endorse the recommendation of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade that all travellers take out travel insurance.
