I took a tour from Cairns to Kuranda village with this company and absolutely loved the experience. The journey on the historic train was wonderful and the Skyrail ride was even more spectacular. The Australian rainforest is breathtakingly beautiful and Barron Falls is an incredibly impressive natural wonder. During the tour I also had the chance to get up close to a koala)) Kuranda village itself is very charming, authentic and unique. Many thanks to the “Happy Travels”, especially Bailey, for the recommendation and for organizing everything so clearly and smoothly. I highly recommend this agency. They offer reasonable prices and they provide personal and attentive service. This is my first visit to Australia and I am truly impressed by the beauty of nature, the clean air and the kindness of the people here. People in this country are very friendly, welcoming and genuine.

I honestly can’t recommend Jeremy at Happy Travels enough. From start to finish he has been so patient, accommodating and genuinely lovely to deal with. My plans kept changing because of work commitments and shifting dates, and he handled every adjustment so calmly and efficiently, nothing ever felt like too much trouble. He completely understood the kind of trip I was hoping for and put together the perfect mix of activities such as skydiving and island tours! He even carefully scheduled everything around the days I wasn’t working while I was out there, which made the whole trip feel seamless and stress-free. Whenever I had a million questions (which was often!), he would just jump on a call to explain everything properly instead of going back and forth on messages, which made such a difference. He was always friendly, reassuring and genuinely excited about helping me plan the best experience possible. It’s rare to feel that level of personal care when booking travel, and I’m so grateful for all his help. We stumbled past your Byron Bay shop today. Sophie approached us on the street and enticed us in with her bubbly personality. When speaking with her, she got very excited about different trips and wasn’t pushy with what she was offering. Her enthusiasm for what was on offer was genuine. We decided to book our trip to Cairns with her, where we have some must-see travel destinations on the cards. With the dates we had already booked for our arrival in Cairns, the trip she offered us was fully booked (peak season). However, she found availability at the end of the week (which we booked). She helped us book the majority of our stay prior to our overnight trip, which includes a catamaran Barrier Reef day trip, and we even opted for the dive. She also recommended we go to the Magnetic Islands. We tried to book the whole trip with her, but sadly the hostels were fully booked for anything apart from an expensive private room, so we decided to leave that accommodation for a later date. I have mixed feelings about my experience with Happy Travels. On a personal level, the staff were friendly and, when something personal came up, they were accommodating. However, now that I am actually on the trip, it does not feel like the itinerary reflects the preferences I clearly communicated. I emphasized two non-negotiables from the start: 1. I did not want to stay in party hostels, as I do not drink much, and 2. I prefer to travel at a fast pace. Despite this, my first hostel was very much a party hostel. People were coming in and out of the dorm at all hours, holding full conversations at normal volume, and I barely slept. I am genuinely confused as to why I was placed there after repeatedly stressing that I wanted to avoid party hostels. As the trip has gone on, I have also become concerned that the itinerary was padded with unnecessary nights. After speaking with other travelers in Australia, it seems I have been booked for significantly longer stays than are typical. For example, many people spend two nights in Byron Bay, but I was booked for four. I expressed that I am from a beach town and don’t need much time in beach towns for this reason. When I asked about this at the itinerary stage, I was told four nights was appropriate. Now that I am here, it feels more like extra nights were added to sell a longer trip rather than because they matched my travel style. I have not yet reached Brisbane or Cairns, but based on conversations with other travelers, I expect the same issue there as well. Edit: After I initially wrote this review, Happy Travels attempted to address some of the issues. Unfortunately, during that process, they somehow canceled my hostel reservation for the following night. They first suggested that I switch hostels for just one night in the same city, which is inconvenient, and told me I would need to pay for public transportation or an express bus myself since Premier and Greyhound buses were sold out. After I pushed back, they agreed to reimburse the bus ticket, which I appreciated. That said, canceling my hostel reservation in the first place was unprofessional. They eventually rebooked me for the following night (only one night) shortly before they closed for the day and told me that rebooking the rest of my trip would be a priority the next morning. More than two hours after they opened the next day, I still had not heard from them, despite sending follow-up messages. When I am paying a significant amount for a travel planning service, I expect clearer communication and an itinerary that actually reflects the preferences I explicitly outlined.

As a female solo traveler, planning can be nerve racking and she took all of the stress out of it for me! Kat was incredibly patient on our call as we made our own itinerary. We went back and forth changing things at least five times and everytime she went away with the same high level of enthusiasm. We landed on the perfect itinerary for us; full of adventure, nature, and fun and we could not have planned the trip without her (and we have been backpacking all over the world before)All the activity tickets, hostel stays, transport etc has been booked, and with the greyhound buses we still have the ability to change the timing in the day to suit our wants and needs. I booked my east coast trip with happy travels and it was such a good experience. Shortly after my online inquiry, Matt gave me a call and sent over a possible itinerary for my trip. He then made sure that everything was the way I imagined it and quickly adapted the plan to my wishes. The whole procedure was really smooth and I got my whole trip planned within a couple of days.
