Day 1: Meet Your Group and Discover Delhi

Get yourselves ready for the most epic 23 day trip exploring India and Sri Lanka. Starting in Delhi, greet your new friends who will be your travel companions for the next 2 – 3 weeks. Your tour guide will be waiting for you with enthusiasm and a sense of adventure. Check into your accommodation, relax, then head out to Delhi’s bustling streets for some welcome drinks to get to know your new travel mates.

Day 2: Explore Delhi

This morning you’ll be exploring New Delhi through the eyes of a local. Set off on a walking tour through lively streets and colourful storefronts. Your tour is organised by the Salaam Balak Trust, a non-profit organisation helping the street children in Delhi. You’ll get the chance to visit their headquarters and learn of all the help they provide for those living on the streets – so you know your time in New Delhi is going towards a good cause. After a meaningful morning, visit famous sights such as the India gate war memorial and Rashtrapati Bhavan. This evening you’ll be boarding the overnight train to your next destination, Udaipur.

Day 3: Udaipur Sunset Cruise

Welcome to Udaipur, also known as the ‘Venice of the East’. Arrive bright and early off of the overnight train and the day is yours to explore. The beautiful lakes and breathtaking architecture will take you by surprise. Then meet back up in the afternoon to cruise through the tranquil waters of Lake Pichola on a sunset cruise. Enjoy a mouthwatering traditional Indian dinner as you enjoy the picturesque sights of the city.

Day 4: Explore Udaipur

Enjoy a guided walking tour of the city where you’ll dive into the rich history of Udaipur. Visit architectural wonders such as the City Palace and Jagdish Temple, with intricate engravings and ornate towers to marvel at. Then explore the remarkable gardens of Saheliyon-ki-bari for a touch of nature in the middle of the busy city. Relax by the lake, explore the markets, and enjoy another delicious dinner with your group.

Day 5: Pushkar Retreat

It’s time for your next adventure, to one of India’s oldest cities. Escape to a tranquil retreat away from the city, but not too far from the eternal spiritual high that the holy town of Pushkar provides. You have an early wake-up call tomorrow, so take it easy, relax by the pool, take in the scenery, and make the most of this peaceful time.

Day 6: Explore Pushkar

Don’t worry, your early start today is worth it, because it’s time to visit Savitri Mata Temple just in time for the most beautiful sunrise with breathtaking views of the city below. Then you’ll visit the well-known eighth century Brahma Temple and the heavenly Pushkar Lake before enjoying a leisurely afternoon. Enjoy the peaceful surroundings, have a drink or two, swim in the pool, and enjoy dinner at the hotel.

Day 7: Jaipur Cooking Class & Bollywood Dance

Today is a day full of flavour as you head to Jaipur – full of delicious spices and Bollywood magic. Get to know a local family where you’ll join an Indian-style cooking class to learn how to spice things just right. Of course, you’ll get to enjoy the fabulous meals you’ve just whipped up before heading to Rajmandir cinema for an epic Bollywood experience. Lose yourself in a whirlwind of colour, music, and good times as you dance the night away.

Day 8: Explore The Pink City

Get ready to be immersed into a world of pink! Today’s an exciting day as you explore the city and visit the famous Pink Palace. Head up to the fort in a 4×4 for a fun experience, with amazing views of the whole pinkwashed city. Then, visit the Hawa Mahal, one of the most spectacular architectural designs in India that resembles an optical illusion. Its 953 windows are an absolute must see.

Day 9: Jaipur to Ranthambore

Today is adventure time, as you’ll be visiting the enormous wildlife reserve known as Ranthambore National Park. Home to tigers, leopards, marsh crocodiles, and more, this will be an unforgettable experience. You’ll have time to explore the area and go to the hilltop Ranthambore Fort. Then, attend a Tiger talk to learn more about these incredible creatures and about the nation’s significant efforts in conservation. Stay the night and enjoy an included dinner, and get ready for one of the most epic day’s on your journey yet.

Day 10: Ranthambore National Park Safari

Rise and shine, it’s time for a Wildlife Safari! Head out on fun jeeps into the national park where you’re going to see a tonne of local wildlife, so get your camera’s ready. There are monkeys, crocodiles, deers, and peacocks to see, and if you’re lucky even a wild tiger or two! This encounter will reveal a part of India that you don’t usually see on TV. The surroundings are breathtaking, the wildlife is wonderful, and the experience is unbeatable. Following a fantastic morning, you have the rest of the day to do as you please. Explore the town or simply unwind and enjoy the beautiful sunshine.

Day 11: Āgra Traditional Palace Lunch

Today you’re travelling to Agra, with a stop off at Fatehpur Sikri on the way. A ghost city built between 1571 and 1585 that is renowned for its exquisite old buildings now preserved. Next on the agenda is a very exclusive and one of a kind experience. You’ll be enjoying a traditional lunch in a Palace! Meet your host family for a walk through the organic gardens and in house dairy farm, learn the favourite ingredients used to make your delicious lunch picked fresh from the gardens, and take it all in. Finally, head to Agra Fort, a UNESCO heritage site, before enjoying a relaxing evening.

Day 12: The Taj Mahal

Today is a true highlight of your time in India and an epic win for the bucket list. The Taj Mahal! Get up early to see a once in a lifetime sunrise over the beautiful marble and gardens of the Taj Mahal. Get your pictures in, take in the surroundings, and learn about the history and construction of the temple. You’ll get to go inside to see the tombs of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan and his wife. After seeing one of the most breathtaking locations in all of its glory, head to Delhi in the afternoon as you’ll be finishing your time in India. Enjoy a farewell dinner and party with excellent food, colourful cocktails, and epic company.

Day 13: Fly To Sri Lanka

Today you’re leaving India, but you get to take those epic memories with you. Next on the journey: welcome to Sri Lanka! Arrive in time to check into your hotel in Negombo, where you can enjoy some free time getting to know the local shops and restaurants, before starting the second leg of your epic tour tomorrow morning.

Day 14: Explore Negombo

While some travel mates will have come with you from India, today you’ll be adding a few new faces to the group! Get to know your new friends, explore the city, relax by the hotel pool and enjoy a delicious dinner together. Get ready for the dream that is travelling Sri Lanka.

Day 15: Sigiriya Temples

Today you’ll be heading into the heart of Sri Lanka to explore the local culture, get to know the history and see some beautiful temples. First up is the sacred Dambulla Cave Temple, magnificently carved deep into the rock face. Then it’s onwards to the Golden Buddha, majestic and shining atop a picturesque hilltop. After that, head to your accommodation which houses a spectacular view of Sigiriya Rock, which you’ll be exploring the next morning.

Day 16: Sigiriya Rock

More early starts, but still totally worth it. This morning you’re heading to the top of one of Sri Lanka’s most well known landmarks, Sigiriya Rock. Also known as Lion Rock for the giant claws carved into the base of the rock, with winding staircases leading you to a world of wonder, this World Heritage site is another must for the bucket list. Perched on top of the giant rock is an enormous, ancient fortress with breathtaking views of the surrounding plains. Get to know how this place came to be and explore the wonderful sights.

After climbing down, it’s time for a feast at the hotel where you can then explore the town. This evening is a real treat, as you head to an authentic local farming village to enjoy a delicious dinner prepared by the most wonderful locals. Enjoy a mouth watering meal around a wholesome bonfire and be welcomed into the community.

Day 17: Sigiriya to Kandy

You’re heading to Kandy today to see the Temple of the Tooth, which is housed inside the Royal Palace complex. Learn more about Sri Lanka’s rich history and the significance of the famous relic and temple, which holds great ancient political power. This evening, enjoy some beers and a view of the picturesque Kandy Lake at sunset.

Day 18: Scenic Train to Ella

Today is when you’ll want your cameras and phone charged and ready to go, as the journey today is truly amazing. First up, you’ll be driving through the beautiful town of Nuwara Elia to spend the morning at a local tea plantation. Learn about the process from leaf to cup and try out some delightful teas. After that, lunch will be spent at a local family run cooking school, learning how to cook some of Sri Lanka’s best dishes.

Then, it’s time to board the iconic blue train for one of the most scenic train rides you’ll ever experience. Known for its picturesque journey weaving through hills covered in tea plantations, past cascading waterfalls and colourful local villages, be sure to get the perfect shot sitting on the edge. Finally you’ll end up in the little town of Ella, chilled out, quirky, and beautiful, where you’ll spend the next couple of days exploring.

Day 19: Nine Arch Bridge & Little Adams Peak

No need to be up early this morning, but you will be hiking to one of the best views in Ella after your relaxing breakfast. Little Adams Peak holds spectacular views of Ella Gap, a gorge brimming with picturesque backdrops and waterfalls. After lunch in town, make a stop at the iconic Nine Arch Bridge to watch as the train passes and stroll along the track.

Day 20: Udawalawe National Park Safari

Say goodbye to Ella and hello to Udawalawe National Park, home to incredible wildlife and picture perfect natural beauty. You’ll get to go searching for waterfalls today, and even go for a dip if the weather allows. Then it’s time for another unforgettable experience as you join an epic wildlife safari. Here, you’ll find buffalos, monkeys, and even flamingos, roaming the fields as far as the eye can see. See the iconic peacocks perched on top of tree stumps, and if you’re lucky, a pack of elephants might just cross the track right in front of you. After that incredible tour of the national park, spend the night in glamping tents, enjoying the wholesome activities planned and the twinkling stars above.

Day 21: Explore Galle & Unawatuna

Today brings a little bit of history as you head to the beachside town of Unawatuna, and explore Galle Dutch Fort. One of the world’s oldest living forts and UNESCO World Heritage site, step into a different world as you venture the cobbled streets and quaint shops of Galle. It’s a perfect mix of modern and historic. Spend the evening relaxing with your group or exploring the streets of Unawatuna at night.

Day 22: Jungle Beach Day

Today is a treat as you get to spend it at a beautiful Sri Lankan beach. Walk through the jungle to the stunning golden sands of the beach and take in the surrounding nature. This beach truly feels like the middle of nowhere, and you get to relax, soak up some sun, and swim in the gorgeous turquoise ocean. A well deserved chill day after an epic few weeks exploring the depths of India and Sri Lanka. Then it’s back to the hotel for your farewell dinner, reminiscing on the magic of your adventure.

Day 23: Say Goodbye

Do I need to reconfirm my bookings?

All bookings must be reconfirmed 48 hours in advance by contacting your tour provider directly using the contact information listed on your tour voucher.

What should I do if my trip is cancelled due to bad weather?

You may either re-schedule directly with the supplier or you can email our support team on [email protected] and include your voucher number, name of product you booked, planned departure date and your contact details. Once you’ve emailed us, you can drop us a line at +61 2 5633 1149.

Do you book tours with flexible dates? If so, how long are they valid for?

Yes, we do have open dated/flexible tickets available. Most tour vouchers are valid for 12 months from date of purchase, however please be aware that you may be subject to supplier price fluctuations. All ticket validity is specified on the tour voucher. If you are unsure of the validity of your voucher, just ask one of our wonderful staff.

What do I do if I need help with an existing booking?

Some tours have extra costs and you should be aware that there may be added expenses. These expenses will differ for each service provider, but some of the more usual extras are: EMC tax, stinger suit hire, luggage storage, sleeping bag hire, linen hire, national park fee, food, insurance, accommodation, equipment hire, petrol levy, etc. We will alert you to extra costs to the extent reasonably practicable. However, you must also check with each individual service provider when you re-confirm your booking.

Do I need travel insurance?

We endorse the recommendation of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade that all travellers take out travel insurance. If you already have travel insurance, please understand that it is your responsibility to ensure that your travel insurance covers you for all of the adventure style travel you have booked with us.

Do you offer payment plans?

Absolutely, we understand that paying off a big trip in one go isn’t always that easy. We offer flexible payment plans to suit all types of travellers with zero interest or fee’s (minimum $100AUD deposit required).

How do I know if my trip is BYO?

Most tour vouchers will specify if your trip is BYO however we recommend asking your tour provider if your trip is BYO when you reconfirm your booking 48 hours prior to departure.
