Compulsory briefing at Nomads Noosa (the night prior to departure) at 18:30 unless starting tour in Rainbow Beach – See pick up’s and departures below for more information.
Start bright and early from Nomads Hostel in Noosa (6.30am). Head to Rainbow Beach (transfers included) to pick up your 4WD vehicles. Once you’ve learned everything you need to know about the vehicles, you’ll be driving to the ferry at Inskip Point, which takes you over to K’Gari. For those wishing to start the tour in Rainbow Beach, please specify at the time of booking.
Arrive on the island and drive along 75 Mile Beach to your first destination. The itinerary will change depending on weather and tide conditions to make the most of your time on K’Gari. Your first day may take you to the lusciously green Lake Wabby. After lunch, explore the rainforest at Wanggoolba Creek, or see Central Station. Enjoy the bumpy but exciting drive through the forest towards your camp. Jump into your very own swag, enjoy dinner and drinks with your new friends, stargaze on the beach. Enjoy a good night’s rest before another day of exploring.
Another early start with a continental style breakfast before heading out to make the most of your day. Today brings you downtime at the wonderful Eli Creek, and a quick stop to see the famous SS Maheno Shipwreck. After lunch drive to Indian Head lookout and the scenic Champagne Pools. Head back down 75 Mile Beach for your final night at camp.
After breakfast and packing up camp, enjoy your last day exploring K’Gari. Head to the beautiful Lake Mckenzie, swim in the wonderfully fresh water and relax on the stark white silica sand. Another delicious lunch before making your way back to the ferry, and over to Rainbow Beach. Back to Noosa for a fun night at KB’s bar with your new friends.

Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. On the morning of your tour you will be meeting at Nomads Hostel in Noosa, where they have luggage storage rooms for you to store your larger luggage while you take your overnight bag on tour.
Queensland is subject to cyclones and flash flooding. Sometimes roads are closed, making it impossible to reach Rainbow Beach, Noosa, or the Island. If the Island is deemed unsafe Queensland National Parks can close K’gari. The Island is remote and it can be very expensive if you need to leave in the event of an emergency and for these reasons we highly recommend Travel Insurance.

K’gari Swag Adventures has an eco-certified campground set in an epic location right next to the beach. All gear will be provided (swag tent, sleeping bags and pillows) you just rock up and your amazing guides will sort out everything else. The camp also has a dingo-fence around the campsite so they won’t come and say hello whilst you’re having a BBQ.
Yes! You can drive on K’gari if:
– You are 21 years of age with 2 years of driving experience.
– You hold a valid driving license.
If your driver’s license is not written in full English it must be accompanied by an international driver’s license. No photocopies will be accepted.
Absolutely you can still do the tour! There is always room for a navigator, a comedian, a DJ and a photographer. If you don’t wanna take on these responsibilities, that’s cool too, just sit back and enjoy the ride.
Toilets? Of course.
Whilst you will be getting a truly authentic Aussie experience, you won’t be made to go in the bushes…
Showers? No way.
We advise you to leave the Pantene Pro-V at home! You will be swimming in crystal clear freshwater lakes daily. Natures best bathing experience!
