You will get to enjoy a 3 hour white water rafting tours with the legends at Kaitiaki Adventures who are all fully certified professionals and have a 100% rating in banter to make sure you have a fun filled day with all laughs and no brakes. You will find yourself winding, bending, and speeding down the Kaituna River in a raft with your good mates over meandering river banks, down natural made slides, and a few tiny drops to keep you on your toes.
Meet at the Kaitiaki Adventures HQ to begin to gear up for your trip.
You will undergo a mandatory safety meeting and comprehensive rafting training to make sure you are all good on the water.
Hit the rapids with your mates for a fun filled adventure on the water, winding down the Kaituna River.
Enjoy some commentary from your guide about the New Zealand surroundings and Maori culture.
Return back to base and decompress after a fun filled day on the Kaituna River.
No experience is necessary – comprehensive training will be provided along with our awesome kiwi guides to attend and encourage you along the way.
Courtesy transport 7 days a week from all central Rotorua accommodation and the Rotorua Information Centre.

Our rafts are purpose built Kaitiaki Adventures designed, high quality, New Zealand made rafts constructed by INCEPT MARINE
Kaitiaki Adventures carries a complete range of customer equipment in all sizes. All whitewater participants are provided with compulsory equipment including: NRS Type V PFD, Neoprene Boots & Pro-tech full cut hemet and optional weather dependant equipment such as: Wetsuits, Fleeces & Spray Jackets.
Safety Training
Every participant must complete land-based safety training before starting the activities. This involves a Guide lead demonstration introducing participants to their personal safety equipment, command training and emergency procedures. Once your Guide is confident that you understand how to remain safe at all times, the activity will commence.
Risk Disclosure
The sport, nature and activity of Whitewater Rafting, Whitewater Sledging & Mt Tarawera Hiking activities involves a reasonably high level of inherent risk. The river & mountainous environments are continually changing. All Kaitiaki Adventures Guides are properly licensed and trained. All equipment is industry standard and well maintained. Participants are well informed and properly equipped before each activity. All participants assume the risks or damage while undertaking these activities. Kaitiaki Adventures endeavours to make all journeys as safe as possible. In order to do this we will ask each participant to complete a disclosure document and provide information relation to health, physicality, impairments and water preparedness.
All participants & Guides hold the right to refuse rafting/sledging or hiking at any time before or during each activity with no discriminatory action taken.
All bookings must be reconfirmed 48 hours in advance by contacting your tour provider directly using the contact information listed on your tour voucher.
You may either re-schedule directly with the supplier or you can email our support team on [email protected] and include your voucher number, name of product you booked, planned departure date and your contact details. Once you’ve emailed us, you can drop us a line at +61 2 5633 1149.
Yes, we do have open dated/flexible tickets available. Most tour vouchers are valid for 12 months from date of purchase, however please be aware that you may be subject to supplier price fluctuations. All ticket validity is specified on the tour voucher. If you are unsure of the validity of your voucher, just ask one of our wonderful staff.
Some tours have extra costs and you should be aware that there may be added expenses. These expenses will differ for each service provider, but some of the more usual extras are: EMC tax, stinger suit hire, luggage storage, sleeping bag hire, linen hire, national park fee, food, insurance, accommodation, equipment hire, petrol levy, etc. We will alert you to extra costs to the extent reasonably practicable. However, you must also check with each individual service provider when you re-confirm your booking.
We endorse the recommendation of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade that all travellers take out travel insurance. If you already have travel insurance, please understand that it is your responsibility to ensure that your travel insurance covers you for all of the adventure style travel you have booked with us.
Absolutely, we understand that paying off a big trip in one go isn’t always that easy. We offer flexible payment plans to suit all types of travellers with zero interest or fee’s (minimum $100AUD deposit required).
