Arrive at the marina at 2:30 pm to begin your Whitsunday Getaway experience. Your skipper and hostess will be waiting to greet you and welcome you aboard your floating home for the next few days. After a quick vessel safety briefing, we begin sailing effortlessly, passing through surreal island scenery. There is endless beauty to behold while underway and plenty to learn from your knowledgeable crew while you search for the perfect protected bay to drop anchor for the night. Guests are welcomed and encouraged to try their hand at sailing, and whether you are a beginner or a seasoned sailor, our experienced crew are always happy to share their love of sailing and the sea with others. You may also opt to relax with a refreshing drink instead, lapping up the luxury of the boat while the crew take over. Choose to do as little or as much as you like on this voyage, the world is your oyster!

As you enjoy pre-dinner drinks and getting to know your fellow travellers, your hostess will be preparing your first gourmet meal. After dinner, continue relaxing with the company of your new friends, taking in the tranquility surrounding you. When you’re feeling drowsy, take a last glance across the shimmering waters and turn in for the night in your comfy cabin, where you’ll be rocked to sleep by the gentle ocean swell.

Don’t sleep in – there’s too much to do! The crew are up early to make you a ‘cuppa’ and prepare your fabulous continental breakfast. After a pleasant and invigorating sail, it’s time to visit the euphoric Whitehaven Beach, with its remarkably pure silica sand. Experience first hand why this beach is often rated the most beautiful in the world! After enjoying a few hours on the beach, your hostess will take you on an informative guided bush walk up to the picture-perfect postcard that is Hill Inlet lookout. This view is not to be missed as it is a once in a lifetime opportunity to view the stunning and intriguing swirling sands that make Whitehaven’s Hill Inlet world-famous!

After a superb buffet lunch back onboard Getaway, we make our way up to the northern Whitsunday Islands to snorkel a vibrant underwater world filled with colour, life and beauty. When the evening sets in, so do the sails as we make our way to another spectacular anchorage to spend the night, reflecting on the day’s excursion.

Get up early for another glorious breakfast aboard the vessel overlooking the beautiful Whitsundays. Today you will be able to visit some of the last snorkel sites and get a chance to get amongst some stand up paddle boarding. After a fun filled day in the sun, enjoy your last bit of time out on the sea and sail back to Airlie Beach, where you will disembark the boat and have a chance to enjoy the rest of your stay in this magical Whitsundays town. Feel free to visit some local bars and restaurants while you wind down from your trip.

If you are travelling on the 3 Day 3 Night option, you will instead enjoy a full extra day out on the Whitsunday Islands where you may wish to enjoy the onboard activities such as paddle boarding or snorkelling. Then you will have the chance to unwind to another magnificent Whitsunday sunset.

If you choose to take the 3 night option then you will enjoy day 4 as your final day exploring the whitsundays. After a fun filled day in the sun, enjoy your last bit of time out on the sea and sail back to Airlie Beach, where you will disembark the boat and have a chance to enjoy the rest of your stay in this magical Whitsundays town. Feel free to visit some local bars and restaurants while you wind down from your trip.

Cancellations made within 14 days of departure for overnight boats will result in complete forfeiture of the ticket price.

Due to Airlie Beach being located in the tropics we can occasionally experience inclement weather.

Clients should note that adventure travel involves risk. Whilst we make every effort to safeguard guests, we cannot be responsible for any damage, personal injury or loss due to the actions of passengers that are beyond our control. All cruises are subject to weather and the vessel operator’s discretion. Vessel operators reserve the right to vary itineraries for safety and passenger comfort. At certain times of year ‘dangerous’ jellyfish inhabit these waters and passengers should take care for their own safety. Passengers entering the water do so at their own risk and the owners or operators of the vessel will not be liable for any personal injury, illness, death or any other consequences whatsoever of passengers being stung by jellyfish. To minimise this risk, you will be provided with a full length protective ‘Stinger Suit’ to wear whilst swimming and snorkelling during the cruise. Accordingly, it shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any injury to person or property which is suffered or sustained by any passenger as a result of participating in any of its sailing adventures, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.

Special Needs

Passengers travelling who have special needs including travelling with children under twelve, the elderly, passenger with mobility issues or special medical conditions need to contact Whitsunday Sailing Adventures check-in office and discuss their special needs prior to booking. Special needs need to be approved by the operator prior to booking or else boarding for the tour may be refused.

If Whitsundays Sailing Adventures have not been notified of the above, prior to our 14 day cancellation policy, you may be refused boarding, and there will be no refund as per the cancellation policy.

There is definitely no wrong way. We recommend either taking a WHIMIT or Hop on Hop off bus pass such as Greyhound or renting a campervan with some mates and hitting the open road. If you feel like getting pretty adventurous and want to get amongst the true Australian terrain, a 4WD may be better suited for you. Enquire now and we can help you find the most suitable transport option.
