This trip combines culture, wildlife, and new friends into one epic two day sightseeing excursion. Across these two days, you’ll see all the best highlights, including Lake Mckenzie, Eli Creek, Indian Head Lookout, Maheno Shipwreck, and more. Getting around the island is all taken care of, so don’t worry about renting a 4WD or ruining your own daily driver. The crew at K’Gari Explorer have a purpose built 4WD mega-coach designed specifically for tough terrain. These vehicles will get you from A to B plus change.
Accommodation is included at the Eurong Beach resort, a short distance from the Pacific, perfect to pair with a golden sunset. Entry level pricing includes 4-share dorm-style accommodation, but you are welcome to upgrade for a few extra bucks and go private. Breakfast on the second day and lunch on both days in included. If you have dietary requirements or your taste buds just won’t agree with the menu, then the crew is happy to cater to your liking.
Getting to the island is as easy as Sunday morning. With daily departures from Hervey Bay and ferry crossing included in the price, we can make any date work for you. Whether you are heading north or south, you will need to make your way to one of the several departure locations to begin your trip.. If you don’t have transportation lined up already, we are happy to sort that out for you too.
Begin with a pick up from your Hervey Bay accommodation
Travel to Central Station
Continue on to Wanggoolba Creek and explore the king ferns and lush subtropical rainforest canopy
Hike through Pile Valley’s subtropical rainforest and its huge satinay trees once used in the construction of the Suez Canal.
Next up is Lake McKenzie, Fraser Island’s famous freshwater lake
Travel down 75 Mile Beach, Fraser Island’s iconic beach highway. Keep a lookout out for wildlife, as well as light aircraft taking off and landing right on the beach.
Relax at Eli Creek and float down this idyllic lazy river
Check out the Maheno Shipwreck, which has been washed ashore since 1935
Marvel at the Pinnacles and learn the Dreamtime stories of how these beautiful cliffs were formed
Arrive at Indian Head to take in the stunning 360-degree views of the island while trying to spot the local marine life, including sharks, turtles, and rays
Bathe at Champagne Pools and feel the full force of mother nature as she sends crashing waves over the top of this natural rock pool
Get a taste of the Sahara and Trek across the Hammerstone Sandblow on your way to Lake Wabby, a stunning emerald green lake like no other.
Drop off back to your Hervey Bay accommodation at approximately 6:00pm on Day 2

As this tour is off-road, we recommend that pregnant travellers or people with existing medical conditions seek medical advice before booking this tour.
Travellers need to be independently mobile to access and disembark the 4WD buses and all tour sites visited.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Bookings cancelled more than 48 hrs prior to departure will incur no cancellation fee.
Bookings cancelled between 24 – 48 hrs prior to departure will incur a 50% cancellation fee.
Bookings cancelled less than 24 hrs prior to departure or failure to board the tour will incur a 100% cancellation fee.
Non utilised tour components will not be refunded.
All bookings must be reconfirmed 48 hours in advance by contacting your tour provider directly using the contact information listed on your tour voucher.

Yes, we do have open dated/flexible tickets available. Most tour vouchers are valid for 12 months from date of purchase, however please be aware that you may be subject to supplier price fluctuations. All ticket validity is specified on the tour voucher. If you are unsure of the validity of your voucher, just ask one of our wonderful staff.
