11 Day 10 Night Fiji Island Explorer Itinerary

Please Note

Itinerary and daily activities are subject to change.

Accommodation options are based on availability – once booked, we will book you in at the appropriate accommodation that is available for your travel dates and you will be sent all official information regarding your accommodation and itinerary.

Meal packages are compulsory and are no longer included in Yasawa Adventures packages. Your meal plan (information below) is payable upon arrival.

Day 1: Arrive Nadi

Book your flight to arrive at Nadi International Airport where you’ll be greeted and transferred to your welcome accommodation. Settle in, meet your fellow travellers, and get a taste of that famous Fijian hospitality. Tomorrow, the islands are waiting.

Day 2: Yasawa Gateway Region (Octopus Resort or Barefoot Kuata)

Bula! Board the iconic Yasawa Flyer at Port Denarau and cruise into the heart of the Yasawa Islands. Your first stop is the Yasawa Gateway region, home to Octopus Resort and Barefoot Kuata Island Resort. Both deliver that classic castaway vibe – white sand, warm water, and not a care in the world. Barefoot Kuata is the go-to for shark encounters (yes, really – it’s less scary than it sounds!), while Octopus Resort is ideal for those after a more laid-back beach escape.

Day 3 & 4: Blue Lagoon Region (Blue Lagoon Beach Resort)

Two nights in what many people call Fiji’s most iconic destination – and honestly, it earns the title. The Blue Lagoon region is straight out of a postcard, with impossibly clear turquoise water and swaying palms. Spend your days snorkelling vibrant coral reefs, visiting a local Fijian village, or simply floating in the lagoon with a fresh coconut in hand. Sawa-i-Lau Caves are a short trip away if you’re up for exploring ancient limestone formations lit by shafts of sunlight – bucket list stuff.

Day 5 & 6: Mantaray Region (Barefoot Manta or Mantaray Island Resort)

The Mantaray region is the Yasawa’s open secret — a hotspot for manta ray encounters from May to October and one of the most social stretches of the island chain. Between Barefoot Manta and the legendary Mantaray Island Resort (if you’re after evening entertainment, limbo nights included), you’re in safe hands. Get amongst a sunset tube cruise, hit the snorkel trails, or simply watch the day turn golden from your beachfront bure.

Day 7 & 8: Back to Yasawa Gateway Region (Octopus Resort or Barefoot Kuata)

Return to the Yasawa Gateway region for two more nights – a chance to revisit your favourite spots or try the resort you skipped on Day 2. Grab that shark snorkel if you didn’t on Day 2, nail the summit hike for the best views in the Yasawas, or stake out your favourite hammock and live on island time.

Day 9: Return to Nadi

Board the Yasawa Flyer and cruise back south through the islands to Port Denarau, arriving back in Nadi early evening. Check back into your Nadi accommodation and celebrate the trip – you’ve earned it. Nadi’s local restaurants and bars are ready for you.

Day 10: Free Day in Nadi + Optional Malamala Beach Club

Your final full day is yours to explore. Wander Nadi’s markets, visit the ornate Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple, or hop on an optional day trip to Malamala Beach Club — the world’s first island beach club, just 30 minutes by ferry from Port Denarau. Think infinity pool, white sand, snorkelling, paddleboarding, Pacific-inspired food, and hand-crafted cocktails. The perfect send-off. Add Malamala to your booking as an optional extra.

Day 11: Fly Home

Transfer to Nadi International Airport and fly home with a tan, a camera full of photos, and a serious case of post-Fiji blues. Vinaka vakalevu, Fiji – we’ll be back.

Things to Know

Please print a copy of your e-ticket or have it readily available on your smartphone/tablet, or note down your booking reference number for check-in.

Yasawa Adventures Fiji uses a Day/Month/Year date format in all confirmations and itineraries.

There is a no smoking policy on all Yasawa Adventures Fiji and South Sea Cruises coaches and vessels.

The resorts booked through Yasawa Adventures Fiji will provide you with linen, towels, and most provide basic toiletries — some properties may charge a small fee for the use of towels in their dorms. We suggest that you bring your own toiletries and may also wish to bring your own towel as well as sunscreen, insect repellent (with DEET or similar), swimwear, a sunhat, and sunglasses. Light, loose clothing is recommended during the day with something warmer for those cooler evenings. The resorts all have generators with the majority operating 24 hours a day — voltage and power sockets are the same as those used in Australia and New Zealand (220–240 volts).

There are no banks in the Mamanuca or Yasawa Islands, so please take a credit/debit card for any incidentals. You will find ATM cash machines at Nadi International Airport, Wailoaloa Bay, and at Port Denarau should you wish to take a small amount of cash with you.

Unless otherwise stipulated by the resort you are staying at, we advise not to drink the water in the rooms/bures as in many cases this is not potable water. However, most of the resorts we book do ensure that the water in the kitchen, bar, and restaurant is filtered to drinking standards. All resorts will have filtered drinking water available for you to refill your reusable drink bottle.

‘Bula’ is Fijian for ‘Hello’ and ‘Vinaka’ is Fijian for ‘Thank you’ — bring your sense of fun and don’t forget to relax and enjoy this beautiful part of the world!

Sunday is a day of rest in Fiji and the local villages attend church services throughout the Yasawa Islands. This means that some activities may not be on offer. You are of course welcome to join the local church service in the village — an amazing experience!

Meha helped me plan doing my scuba diving license, the rainforest, the withsundays sailing tour and the flight over the Great barrier reef, all in 10 days. She also planned 10 days of Fiji for me, wich I really struggled to plan alone. She did it in 3 hours and both are my dream tours. I highly recommend her!!

I highly recommend booking with Happy Travels!! I had a lovely experience with Ella. She contacted me about what i was wanting to do in Fiji and built an itinerary based around that! She then went through it all and explained how it will be when i’m there and helped me answer any questions i had about that! She really had made my planning for this trip so much easier and stress free then just myself planning it! I do think though the communication through whatsapp could be a littler bit faster on responding however still reccomend them and Ella. Thanks for the great help!!!!!

8. Inclusive Packages

Our packages are great for those that prefer a more independent experience – these are self-guided packages that let the traveller explore at their own pace. Packages visit different regions within the Yasawa and Mamanuca Islands (Blue Lagoon region, Manta Ray region, Yasawa Gateway region and Mamanuca Islands). As the resorts within these regions are small (which is part of the attraction of visiting these islands) there is limited availability, therefore we use at least 2 resorts in most regions to try to accommodate all guests.

On nights where our itineraries show more than one hotel listed within a region, the Yasawa Adventures reservations office will confirm the client’s itinerary based on the availability of the resorts and room types at the time of receiving the booking. While we try to accommodate requests for specific resorts/hotels, these are not guaranteed and will be subject to availability at the time of booking. All activities provided will be based on the activities provided at the hotel confirmed in the final itinerary and may be substituted for an alternative activity should they not be available or operational upon client’s arrival at the resort.

Take good care of these documents as these are required to be sighted by each hotel/resort and tour operator.

11. Liability

Where another company or persons operate the tour, activity or excursion, diving, accommodation, or shore transfers, Yasawa Adventures Fiji is only acting as a Sales Agent. Responsibility for the operation and liability for any mishap lies with those operators solely. Yasawa Adventures Fiji is not responsible for missed flights or any associated expenses due to late arrival at check-in counters.

12. Charter for Addressing Problems

In the event you strike a problem, or you are dissatisfied with some aspect of the service or facilities during the course of your trip, our recomendation is to discuss the issue immediately with the service supplier at the time or as practicable in the circumstance. This provides the opportunity to resolve the issue at the time and allows you to continue to enjoy your travel. Should you require our assistance, please contact our Yasawa Adventures Fiji customer support team immediately at [email protected] and they will assist in resolving the issue.

13. Force Majeure

Yasawa Adventures Fiji shall not be liable or responsible for any failure or delay in the performance of its obligations specified herein arising out of or caused by, directly or indirectly, forces beyond its control, including, without limitation, acts of war or terrorism, strikes, riots, accidents, civil or military disturbances, natural catastrophes or acts of God, virus outbreaks, pandemics, power or any other mechanical failures, computer virus, governmental action, or communications disruption.

14. Visa Requirements

It is the responsibility of all customers travelling with Yasawa Adventures Fiji to check and adhere to Fiji’s visa requirements.

15. Travel Insurance

There are very limited medical facilities in the Yasawa Islands so if any medical problem arises you will likely need to return to Nadi. If this problem develops into a serious medical issue, you will most likely want to leave Fiji for Australia or New Zealand, or home. There is also a higher degree of risk in public areas, on local vessels, etc. Sea conditions and sometimes cyclones can prevent travel on the booked dates. It is therefore, an essential condition of travelling with Yasawa Adventures Fiji that you have a valid travel insurance policy to cover the cost of any emergency medical treatment and/or evacuation plus insurance cover for cancelled and/or delayed travel expenses incurred due to cancelled or delayed services as the result of weather events or unforeseen operational issues.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's included in the 11 Day Fiji Island Explorer package?

Your package includes 10 nights accommodation across the Yasawa Islands and Nadi, all scheduled vessel transfers on the Yasawa Flyer between island stops, and coach transfers to and from Port Denarau. Activities are available as optional extras at each resort and can be booked on arrival or can be included as a pre-paid activity pack. Meals are compulsory at each resort and paid directly in Fijian dollars on check-in.

Which islands do you visit on this Fiji package?

This 11 day package visits three regions of the Yasawa Islands: the Yasawa Gateway (Octopus Resort or Barefoot Kuata), the Blue Lagoon region (Blue Lagoon Beach Resort), and the Mantaray region (Barefoot Manta or Mantaray Island Resort). You’ll also spend three nights in Nadi – one on arrival and two free days before your flight home.

Is this package suitable for solo travellers?

Absolutely. The 11 Day Fiji Island Explorer suits all types of travellers — whether you’re a solo adventurer bunking in a dorm, a couple after a private room, or a group of mates looking for the ultimate island escape together. The resorts are warm, welcoming, and built for good times no matter how you travel.

What is the best time of year to do this Fiji package?

Fiji is great year-round, but the dry season from May to October offers the most reliable weather with lower humidity and calmer seas. This is also manta ray season – if swimming with manta rays is on your bucket list, aim for May to October when encounters in the Mantaray region are most common.

Can I see manta rays on this package?

Yes! Days 5 and 6 are spent in the Mantaray region, home to Barefoot Manta and Mantaray Island Resort. Manta ray sightings are most common between May and October. While encounters are never guaranteed (they’re wild animals!), this region consistently delivers some of Fiji’s best manta ray experiences.

What is Malamala Beach Club and do I have to go?

Malamala Beach Club is the world’s first island beach club – a private island just 30 minutes by ferry from Port Denarau. It features white sand beaches, an infinity pool, a Pacific-inspired restaurant, cocktails, and non-motorised watersports. The day trip on Day 10 is completely optional and available as an add-on to your package. If you’d prefer to explore Nadi independently, that’s totally fine too.

What accommodation options are available?

This package offers three room types: Dorm (from $999 AUD pp), Standard Private with shared bathroom (from $1,625 AUD pp), and Upgraded Private with ensuite (from $2,550 AUD pp). All accommodation is across the Yasawa Island resorts included in the itinerary.

Do I need travel insurance for this package?

Yes – travel insurance is compulsory for all Yasawa Adventures Fiji packages, and we strongly recommend arranging cover before you travel. Medical facilities in the Yasawa Islands are very limited and medical evacuation back to Nadi or home can be expensive without adequate cover. Your policy should cover emergency medical treatment, evacuation, and trip disruption.

How do I get between islands on this package?

All island transfers are on the Yasawa Flyer, the main vessel servicing the Yasawa and Mamanuca Islands from Port Denarau. Your package includes all scheduled vessel transfers and coach transfers from most Nadi, Wailoaloa, and Denarau hotels to and from Port Denarau Marina.

Is this package different from the 9 Day or 14 Day options?

Yes. The 11 Day Fiji Island Explorer is the sweet spot between the 9 Day Ultimate Fiji Getaway and the 14 Day Complete Island Hopper. It spends more time in the Yasawa region than the 9 Day, visiting three distinct island zones over 7 nights, while keeping costs lower than the full 14 Day package. It also includes a free day in Nadi with the option to add Malamala Beach Club.
