While the West will thrill you with its rainforests, waterfalls, and wildlife, the East will impress you with its world-famous beaches and, of course, you will be visiting the picture-perfect Bay of Fires and Wineglass Bay. In the midst of it all, the natural beauty of the Freycinet National Park, the Mount Field National Park, and Cradle Mountain will be waiting for you.
The five day Tasmania loop kicks off and ends in Hobart. This coast to coast tour will get you to see the best of the island. Stand next to some of the worlds’ tallest trees, breathe in the worlds’ purest air, and go on a variety of walks suitable to your fitness level. Keep your eyes open for wombats, platypus, and much more native wildlife. Accommodation is included and you can choose between different hostel and motel-style accommodation.

Our small group tour of Lutruwita/Tasmania begins with an exploration of the wild West Coast, featuring a series of stunning short walks throughout the day. The journey takes in three breathtaking National Parks, starting with Mount Field, home to the majestic Russell Falls and the world’s tallest flowering trees. Next, stand on the shores of Lake St Clair—Australia’s deepest freshwater lake—nestled within the Cradle Mountain–Lake St Clair National Park.
Continuing west, dramatic landscapes unfold, with rugged mountains, vast buttongrass plains, and lush rainforests in the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park. A stop in Queenstown offers insight into Tasmania’s pioneering history before arriving in the harbourside village of Strahan.
Overnight: Strahan
Choose between two stunning options: For an active adventure in the West Coast wilderness, join a guided walk amongst temperate rainforest and the towering Henty Sand Dunes. For a more relaxed day, opt for the Gordon River Cruise (own cost), which journeys through Macquarie Harbour, stops at Sarah Island and into the World Heritage Area to stroll amongst the ancient Huon pines.
Later, visit the windswept Ocean Beach, Tasmania’s longest stretch of sand, and take in the world’s freshest air.
Overnight: Strahan
Cradle Mountain National Park is a world-class hiking destination. Deep within the UNESCO Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area, the alpine landscape is rich in wildlife. At Ronny Creek, keep an eye out for wombats before choosing from several walking options to explore the stunning mountain environment. Will it be the challenging climb to Marion’s Lookout for breathtaking views, or the scenic 6km circuit around glacial-carved Dove Lake?
The journey continues to Sheffield, the Town of Murals, before arriving in Launceston.

Begin by exploring Cataract Gorge, a stunning nature reserve just minutes from Launceston’s city centre. Enjoy a short walk while keeping an eye out for wallabies before heading to Tasmania’s East Coast. At Larapuna/Bay of Fires, stroll along the dazzling white sands with its turquoise waters. Learn about its deep cultural significance to the Palawa/Tasmanian Aboriginal people while soaking in the breathtaking scenery.
Overnight in the popular coastal town of St Helens.

Discover Tasmania’s East Coast jewel, Freycinet National Park. Hike 1000 steps to the stunning Wineglass Bay Lookout and down to the pristine Wineglass beach. For a more challenging adventure, tackle the steep climb to Mt Amos, where panoramic vistas stretch across the Freycinet peninsula. Instead, you can relax and enjoy the views of the Hazard’s mountains pink granite peaks and coastal bushlands from Honeymoon Bay.
Finally, take in sweeping views of the Tasman Sea from the Cape Tourville Lighthouse, before journeying along the Great Eastern Drive back to
Nipaluna/Hobart where the tour of Tasmania concludes.

Yes, we do have open dated/flexible tickets available. Most tour vouchers are valid for 12 months from date of purchase, however please be aware that you may be subject to supplier price fluctuations. All ticket validity is specified on the tour voucher. If you are unsure of the validity of your voucher, just ask one of our wonderful staff.
Some tours have extra costs and you should be aware that there may be added expenses. These expenses will differ for each service provider, but some of the more usual extras are: EMC tax, stinger suit hire, luggage storage, sleeping bag hire, linen hire, national park fee, food, insurance, accommodation, equipment hire, petrol levy, etc. We will alert you to extra costs to the extent reasonably practicable. However, you must also check with each individual service provider when you re-confirm your booking.
We endorse the recommendation of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade that all travellers take out travel insurance. If you already have travel insurance, please understand that it is your responsibility to ensure that your travel insurance covers you for all of the adventure style travel you have booked with us.
