A raw and real outback expedition through ancient gorges, rugged ranges, and remote beauty on the iconic Gibb River Road.
Get ready for an unforgettable 9-day overland journey through one of Australia’s most remote and awe-inspiring landscapes – the Kimberley. This small-group camping and hiking adventure begins in Darwin and ends in the laid-back coastal town of Broome, with every day packed full of epic hikes, refreshing swims, ancient rock art, and true off-the-grid camping.
You’ll travel in a custom 4WD vehicle, bush camp under the stars in a traditional Aussie swag, cook meals as a group, and experience the wild heart of the Kimberley just as it should be – raw, remote, and untouched.
Departing Darwin early on Day 1, the adventure kicks off with a stop at the fascinating Magnetic and Cathedral termite mounds, followed by a swim at Edith Falls in Nitmiluk National Park. From there, the journey winds through the Victoria River region – rich in both wildlife and Indigenous culture – before reaching Lake Argyle, where you can choose to join a scenic boat cruise.
Next, explore the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Bungle Bungles in Purnululu National Park, trekking through the stunning beehive domes and narrow chasms. Then it’s onto the legendary Gibb River Road, with stops at El Questro Station and some of the most breathtaking gorges and swimming holes in the country – including Manning Gorge, Galvans Gorge, Bell Gorge, and the dramatic Windjana Gorge.
Finish your journey with a walk through the haunting Tunnel Creek, an underground river system steeped in Bunuba history, before rolling into Broome – a perfect end to this epic outback adventure.
