It’s always a good time to go travelling in Thailand and Vietnam. Most months of the year you will experience sunshine and possibly some rain. It’s usually quite hot and humid, but it can occasionally get cold, especially in the north of Vietnam between November and February, so it’s always best to bring a couple of warm layers with your summer clothing.

Do you need a visa to visit Thailand & Vietnam?

Most nationalities including the UK, Europe, Australia, NZ, Canada, USA, Scandinavia and Brazil do not require a visa for countries in SEA – you will receive a 30-day visa exemption on arrival. You will need at least 6 months remaining validity and 2 blank pages in your passport.

How much spending money do I need?

If you are doing an INTRO Travel group tour in Thailand & Vietnam, all of your accommodation and transport are included, plus some meals and an awesome tour guide. A traveller can expect to need £700 / $1400 AUD / $800 USD spending money on top of the tour price.

Is it worth going to Thailand & Vietnam for a week?

While a week can be enough time to experience the top sites and culture of Thailand & Vietnam we usually recommend you stay a little longer, so you can properly enjoy all of the incredible things these countries have to offer without missing anything. What is the best way to tour Thailand & Vietnam?

A group tour that includes a balance of city and island stays is the best way to see Thailand & Vietnam! Having all of your accommodation, transport, activities and some meals already organised for you means you can fully enjoy the destination without any added stresses.

Is this trip for me?

This is a backpacker style trip, aimed at those happy to stay in nice, clean budget 2-3 star style hotels and guesthouses. The homestay is quite rural so expect some bumpy roads, western but basic amenities and more bugs and wildlife in the area.

Vietnam is a large country, and we experience a lot of it! So expect some longer travel days, with some loud motorbike traffic in the main centres. In Thailand, you will be on a variety of private and public transport including one overnight sleeper train in a multi-share cabin. This is a great way to experience the real Thailand.

Delicious vegetarian cuisine is plentiful in Vietnam and Thailand, however strict gluten free and vegan options can be harder as egg and fish sauce are common ingredients. But we will do our best to provide suitable options. A wide variety of Western meals is not common, however the authentic local food is outstanding!

This trip includes an overnight trek to the Hill tribes of Chiang Mai, which requires an average level of fitness.

When should I arrive for my tour?

It’s best to arrive on the actual start date. This is when most people arrive. There are no activities on the first day but the group gets together in the evening for a welcome dinner at around 7pm. Sometimes people like to arrive a day or two before the trip starts so they can do their own exploring or just have a bit of time to chill before all the fun begins.

Are flights included in the price?

Flights to Thailand and from Vietnam are not included in the price of the tour and will need to be booked separately. However if your tour has an internal flight as part of the itinerary, then this is included!

How many people will be in my group?

Our groups usually have around 12-16 people on them, usually aged between 18 to early 40’s. We get people from all over the world on our tours, so you’ll get to bond with a wide range of travellers who all share that same passion for adventure! As long as you have an appetite for adventure and are happy bonding with people of all backgrounds, you’ll fit in perfectly!

How can I get in touch with my group leader?

You will receive a ‘welcome email’ from your group leader approx. 2 weeks before your tour begins.

What if I'm travelling solo?

If you’re struggling to convince your friends to join you on an adventure, you’re not alone!

Travelling solo on a group tour can be one of the most exciting ways to experience a new destination, and you won’t have to wait around for your mates to be ready. You leave yourself open to meeting amazing people, making new friends, and can keep yourself and your onward travel plans flexible.

The majority of our group members are solo travellers, so joining one of our group tours is a great way to meet people and make friends. Before your trip starts we’ll put you in touch with the rest of your group so you can start chatting and get to know each other. And after the trip a lot of people continue travelling with the new friends they’ve made!

What happens after my trip?

Your group leader will spend enough time as needed to ensure you are totally comfortable and confident with where you’re going next. And can help organise and book whatever you need, including any transport, accommodation or trips you may want. We’ll also provide 24/7 support and advice after your trip, and will always be there to help when you need it.

Do I need travel insurance?

Travel insurance is compulsory for all our trips. You’ll need to show proof of your policy to your group leader upon arrival (on your phone or printed).
