Barron Gorge & Waterfall Helicopter Tour From $299pp

Experience the thrill of soaring high above the Barron River as it carves its path toward the enchanting rainforest village of Kuranda.

This 20-minute rainforest scenic tour offers a glimpse into this breathtaking World Heritage-listed environment. Cairns, located on a floodplain south of the Barron River’s mouth, serves as your gateway to adventure. The Barron River originates in Mount Hypipamee National Park, at an elevation of 3,900 feet, flowing 65 kilometres across the fertile volcanic soils of the Atherton Tablelands. It meanders through the charming village of Kuranda before plunging 850 feet down the majestic Barron Falls and continuing across the Cairns floodplains into the Coral Sea.

The Barron Gorge, a striking natural wonder etched into the Great Dividing Range, features the awe-inspiring Barron Falls, particularly formidable during the tropical wet season. Your flight will trace the Barron Gorge, over the stunning Barron Falls, and past the renowned Skyrail Rainforest Cableway as it spans the river. You’ll circle the village of Kuranda before heading towards the coast, descending over the lush eastern slopes of the Great Dividing Range. The return leg offers panoramic views of Cairns City and the Reef, ensuring a truly unforgettable experience.
