Byron Bay Aboriginal Bush Tucker Tours From $69pp

Immerse yourself in the rich history of Aboriginal culture with three unique Aboriginal tours led by Delta Kay, a passionate Bundjalung woman dedicated to sharing her heritage. Choose between three distinct locations: Walgun (Cape Byron), Bangalow, or Broken Head Nature Reserve, where Delta invites you to explore the ancestral lands of her people.

In Bangalow, venture into the heart of Byron Creek within Bangalow Parklands on a Bush Tucker Tour. As the sun begins its descent every Thursday from 4pm to 5:30pm, Delta illuminates the landscape with stories of resilience and survival. Traverse the rejuvenated grazing land, now thriving with native plant species vital to Bundjalung culture. Along the way, discover the secrets of bush tucker and traditional medicine while glimpsing the elusive inhabitants of the creek, from Binging the river turtle to Junbung the platypus.

For a deeper connection to nature, join the Broken Head Nature Reserve Tour for an unforgettable walk through coastal rainforest and rocky coves. Against the backdrop of crashing waves, Delta leads you on a moderate 1.6 km journey, sharing the significance of each place and regaling you with local history and traditional tales. Encounter an array of wildlife, from playful dolphins to graceful bush turkeys, as you learn about the symbiotic relationship between the land and its inhabitants.

Alternatively, embark on the Cape Byron Aboriginal Tour for an easy stroll through picturesque landscapes of the famed beach called The Pass, steeped in cultural heritage. With towering cliffs and rolling waves engulfing your view, Delta imparts the wisdom of her ancestors, weaving together stories of survival and adaptation. Delight your senses with the taste of bush tucker foods and the warmth of bush tea as you conclude your journey, leaving with a deeper understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal culture and connection to the land.
