How do I get to the hostel?

If you are arriving less than 48 hours before the start of the tour and booked the pre-nights directly with TruTravels at the start hotel, you will get a free airport pickup.

If you are arriving the day of the tour you will also be eligible for an airport pick up.

What is the closest airport to the end destination?

The tour ends in Antigua (Guatemala) and the closest airport from here is Guatemala City (GUA). It takes about an hour by taxi and costs about £35. Alternatively, there is a bus that takes about an hour and a half which can be organised through your guide.

What kind of accommodation is included on this trip?

The accommodation on this trip will be a mixture of twin share and dorm rooms. Twin-share will always be same-sex rooms but for our dorm rooms, these could be mixed-sex, depending on the group. They will always be private for TruTravels.

How many people are on this trip?

Trips tend to cap around 20 people maximum although this does depend on the tour. It’s also worth noting that, usually, groups get fully booked – so if you have your heart set on somewhere, don’t hang about!

What is the currency?

The currency on this trip will be Mexican Pesos, Guatemalan Quetzal and the Belize dollar.

Do I need a visa?

Depending on where you’re travelling from it’s likely that you won’t need a visa to enter Mexico, Belize and Guatemala because you are not staying more than 30 days in each country. You may need to complete an immigration form and have this with you when you enter and leave each country. Please note this is guidance only and is subject to change. Make sure to check visa requirements before you travel.

Is my money protected?

Yes! You’re protected. TruTravels is both ABTA and ATOL registered meaning your money is safe.

Are there age limits for these tours?

Most of the people that join on tour are 18-thirtysomethings! There is an upper age limit of 45 on these tours.

Can you cater for my dietary requirements on this trip?

Are there many solo travellers?
