Ecuador has a tropical climate, though conditions vary by altitude. In Quito, expect subtropical highland weather with daytime temperatures around 70°F (21°C) and cooler nights at 50°F (10°C). The country experiences a dry season from June to September and a wet season from October to May. The rainforest stays warm year-round, averaging 84°F (29°C), while coastal areas are hot and rainy from January to April.
The Galápagos Islands are always warm, ranging from a comfortable heat to sweltering humidity. Temperatures are typically around 30°C (85°F), with highs from 25°C (77°F) in August – September to 31°C (89°F) in March – April. But anytime is a great time to visit!

Tipping is not mandatory in Ecuador, but a 10% service charge is often included on restaurant bills. If satisfied with the service, it is common to tip around 12% of the total bill. Tipping is appreciated but not expected.
Is tap water safe to drink in Ecuador?
It is not recommended to drink tap water in Ecuador. We recommend sticking to bottled water, even when brushing your teeth. Bottled water will be widely available during the trip for convenience.
How much luggage can I bring on this trip?
Internal flights are included in this trip (your Trip Manager will have your tickets ready for you). Each traveller is allowed 1 checked bag & 1 carry-on bag/personal item (eg: small backpack/handbag or laptop bag). The suitcase restriction above means that the checked bag will be within the limitation for this flight. The carry-on bag must not exceed 114 cm (45”). Extra or overweight bags will incur a fee by the airline which is the traveller’s responsibility. Fees range from US$25-US$100.
