Start your exciting adventure getting the ferry to Kangaroo Island and meeting your experienced storyteller guide. You’ll start your exploration of the island with a stop at Pennington Bay on the south coast, after a beautiful coastal drive. Well known for its legendary surf breaks and with the highest point on the highest just 500 steps up Prospect Hill, this is a great way to start your trip with some epic views. Visit Clifford’s Honey to learn about how Kangaroo Island is the oldest bee sanctuary in the world, discover more about these intriguing animals and enjoy a sweet honey tasting. After that, stop by the family-run Dudley Wines, where you can unwind on their verdant lawns and enjoy the breathtaking views of the ocean. After a fun first day exploring the island, arrive at the eco-campsite “Happiness”, where you’ll feel at home for the next two nights camping in a swag underneath billions of stars. Go for a stroll along Antechamber Bay, one of the island’s most gorgeous, and spend your free time connecting with the nature around you.

Day 2: Kangaroo Island
Today join the Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary volunteer conservation program and spot koala’s, kangaroos, possums, echidnas, reptiles, native birds and more in this 2000 hectare wilderness sanctuary. Your conservation efforts may entail gathering seeds, planting trees, or counting wildlife. Next you will head to Flinders Chase National Park, well-known for its striking beaches, diverse wildlife, and unique rock formations. Stroll along the boardwalk at Admirals Arch, take in the peace and quiet, and look out for the resident New Zealand fur seals. Enjoy a picnic lunch and a bush walk at Weirs Cove to replenish your energy. After lunch, take a 45-minute tour with the National Parks & Wildlife guides at Seal Bay to spot some of the 800 seals who call this place home. Following a fulfilling day, make your way back to camp to unwind and reflect over dinner before setting up your gear and counting shooting stars.

Day 3: Kangaroo Island to Adelaide
On the last day of your tour, enjoy a morning hike and some free time getting coffee in Kingscote. For the rest of the day, explore the island’s breathtaking north coast, where you will navigate a maze of caverns at Stokes Bay, the beach that was chosen as the best in Australia in 2023. Enjoy a picnic lunch and, if the weather permits, spend some free time exploring the surrounding area or going snorkeling among the rock pools. Along with this, you’ll become a citizen scientist today and work with Passport to Recovery to support research and conservation initiatives on the island. Return to “Happiness” in the afternoon, gather your belongings, and drive to Penneshaw in time for your ferry back to the mainland at 7:30 p.m. There will be time for one final meal before bidding your guide and tour group farewell, and return to Adelaide by 11pm.

Cancellation & Refund Policy: Refunds will be processed according to the following time frames.
Cancellations within 3 Days of the start date incur a 100.00% fee.
Between 4 Day and 14 Days incur a 50.00% fee.
Between 15 Days and 30 Days incur a 25.00% fee.
If you join a tour after departure or leave before completion, no refunds will be made.

Do I need to reconfirm my bookings?
All Untamed Escapes bookings must be reconfirmed 48 hours in advance by contacting your tour provider directly using the contact information listed on your tour voucher.
What should i do if my trip is cancelled due to bad weather?
You may either re-schedule directly with the supplier or you can email our support team on [email protected] and include your voucher number, name of product you booked, planned departure date and your contact details. Once you’ve emailed us, you can drop us a line at +61 2 5633 1149.
Do you book tours with flexible dates? If so, how long are they valid for?
Yes, we do have open dated/flexible tickets available. Most tour vouchers are valid for 12 months from date of purchase, however please be aware that you may be subject to supplier price fluctuations. All ticket validity is specified on the tour voucher. If you are unsure of the validity of your voucher, just ask one of our wonderful staff.
What do I do if I need help with an existing booking?
Some tours have extra costs and you should be aware that there may be added expenses. These expenses will differ for each service provider, but some of the more usual extras are: EMC tax, stinger suit hire, luggage storage, sleeping bag hire, linen hire, national park fee, food, insurance, accommodation, equipment hire, petrol levy, etc. We will alert you to extra costs to the extent reasonably practicable. However, you must also check with each individual service provider when you re-confirm your booking.
Do I need travel insurance?
We endorse the recommendation of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade that all travellers take out travel insurance. If you already have travel insurance, please understand that it is your responsibility to ensure that your travel insurance covers you for all of the adventure style travel you have booked with us.
Do you offer payment plans?
Absolutely, we understand that paying off a big trip in one go isn’t always that easy. We offer flexible payment plans to suit all types of travellers with zero interest or fee’s (minimum $100AUD deposit required).
How do I know if my trip is BYO?
Most tour vouchers will specify if your trip is BYO however we recommend asking your tour provider if your trip is BYO when you reconfirm your booking 48 hours prior to departure.
