Begin your travels to Rainforestation Nature Park by coach via the scenic Kuranda Range. Upon arrival you will be greeted by your guide and head to the Pamagirri Rainforest Walkabout. Your Pamagirri guide will lead you through the rainforest, pointing out different plants and fruits traditionally used as food and remedies. As an added bonus, you’ll join an Aboriginal art workshop with a Pamagirri artist, where you’ll learn about painting techniques, storytelling, and traditions. Travel deep into the rainforest on both land and water, with your Army Duck Guide explaining the different species of flora and fauna.

Watch a traditional Aboriginal dance performance and join the Dreamtime Walk. Learn to throw a boomerang and watch spear-throwing and didgeridoo playing. Wander at your leisure through a series of elevated boardwalks providing close-up uninterrupted views of a variety of Australian animals and reptiles, including crocodiles, wombats, snakes, dingoes, and kangaroos Enjoy a delicious Aussie BBQ Lunch, have an opportunity to take a photo with a koala or a reptile (optional extra) then head into Kuranda Village for some free time. A must see is the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary (optional extra). Wander through the shops and markets before departing and travelling back to Cairns.

There is definitely no wrong way. We recommend either taking a WHIMIT or Hop on Hop off bus pass such as Greyhound or renting a campervan with some mates and hitting the open road. If you feel like getting pretty adventurous and want to get amongst the true Australian terrain, a 4WD may be better suited for you.
