It is recommended to book activities like Whale shark and Manta Rays swims in advance as sometimes these fill up. We recommend using Ningaloo Reef Dive and Snorkel in Coral Bay and Exmouth Dive Centre in Exmouth but feel free to use any local provider you prefer. (Pickup location for tours in Exmouth is from Potshot Resort). All extra activities are run by external suppliers and whilst we have recommended suppliers, Why Not Bus takes no responsibility for these extra tours or if they get cancelled for any reason.

What makes Why Not Bus different?

We take a more chilled out approach to travelling with longer trips and more flexible schedules. This means; less time on the bus each day, less early wake ups, party games at night and just more time enjoying the Best Coast, West Coast! The Why Not Bus is designed for fun travellers and the young at heart. (we don’t mind if you are older and enjoy younger company also).

How does it work?

We run the trip as a family with everyone helping out when it comes to cooking, cleaning and setting up camp. We will split into groups and take it in turns to cook for the group.

What do we eat?

We buy and cook food together as a group on the bus. Got any awesome recipe ideas? Bring them up when we hit the shops mid trip. We have some recipe ideas to get us started on the first few nights!

Do I need to bring money for food?

At the beginning of each trip we start by adding money to the food fund ($100 each). This food will last us until roughly day 11 on tour.

On two nights we will grab food at the pub (meals from $25). Snacks and alcohol are not included and can be purchased when we stop at shops on day 1 and along the route.

On the overnight bus to Broome you can buy your own dinner at a roadhouse. If you are doing the Perth Exmouth Karijini return Tour, we will stop at the shops to buy lunch and dinner on the 1.5 day drive back to Perth.

If you have any dietary requirements or allergies let our guides know at the beginning of the trip. In general we cook meals as a vegetarian dish. Meat is cooked separately and can be added on the side. Depending on your specific dietary needs, we can either collaborate to create meals that don’t include those ingredients, or you have the choice to whip up your own meals as we go. Our goal is to ensure you’re well-fed and satisfied! We use our custom camping kitchen trailer to create our culinary delights. It includes a fridge, cookers and all kitchenware.

Where do we sleep?

We stay at a mixture of Campsites, Caravan Parks, and Hostels, please see your specific tour inclusions for more details. When camping, your 2 person tent, mattress and sleeping bag will be provided. Accommodation may vary slightly on some trips due to weather or other circumstances.

What do we bring?

All camping and cooking gear is available on the bus. You will need to bring a small pillow, swimwear, sunscreen, insect repellent, warm clothes, walking shoes and a torch. We have usb and 240v power available whilst the bus is driving to charge phones and cameras. Please limit luggage to one reasonable sized backpack or suitcase (around 15kg) plus one carry on per person. Games, snorkelling and sports gear is available on the bus.

Do I need travel insurance?

Travel insurance is compulsory for all our trips. You’ll need to show proof of your policy to your group leader upon arrival (on your phone or printed).

World Nomads travel insurance policies offer coverage for more than 150 activities. Get a quote, make a claim, or buy or extend your policy while on the road.

We endorse the recommendation of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade that all travellers take out travel insurance. If you already have Travel Insurance please understand that it is your responsibility to ensure that your Travel Insurance covers you for all of the adventure style travel you have booked with us.
