Rainforest & Barron Gorge Helicopter Tour From $399pp

Soaring above the city of Cairns and crossing the Great Dividing Range, take in the sights of Lake Morris, the waterholes of Crystal Cascades, and the breathtaking Barron Gorge.

Enjoy a 30 minute Rainforest scenic flight for an even more immersive experience. Begin with a rapid ascent to 2,500 feet over the city of Cairns, heading west toward the Great Dividing Range. Climbing the lush eastern slopes, arrive at the stunning Lake Morris, a remote water catchment supplying fresh water to Cairns and attracting a variety of birdlife to its pristine waters. Passing over Copperlode Dam, track along the range and descend over the bubbling rock pools of Crystal Cascades before flying over the Kuranda Scenic Railway at Stoney Creek.

The journey continues into the magnificent, Instagram-worthy Barron Gorge. Gently climb to 1,000 feet, passing over the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, then circle over the impressive Barron Falls and the nearby Kuranda rainforest village, where the famous Skyrail and Kuranda Scenic Railway begin their return journey to Cairns. From Kuranda, turn east toward the coast, descending over the verdant eastern slopes of the Great Dividing Range. The return leg offers stunning views of Double Island, Palm Cove, Cairns City, and the Reef, ensuring a memorable conclusion to your scenic flight.
