South Korea Seoul to Jeju Island Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Korea

Hello South Korea! Arrive in your hostel nestled in the heart of Seoul’s famous shopping district, Myeongdong. Meet your travel group and head out for a welcome dinner. After, discover the city at night from the top of the Namsan Mountain.

Day 2: Modern Seoul

Enjoy breakfast at the hostel before heading to Hapjeong, the hip neighbourhood of Seoul. Spend the morning learning about K-Pop dance from a professional dance instructor. Later, head out to explore the shops of Hongdae. Visit HiKR to learn about the K-Weave and record your own K-Pop video. Spend the afternoon as you please before exploring the exciting Itaewon district for dinner and drinks.

Day 3: The Demilitarised Zone (DMZ)

Today is one to remember as you head to the remarkable Demilitarised Zone (DMZ). You’ll stand on the border between North and South Korea, experience the stark contrast between the two and learn about the tunnels dug between the 2 countries. You’ll even have the opportunity to speak to a North Korean defector. In the evening, head out in Seoul for another amazing Korean dinner.

Day 4: Traditional Seoul

It’s time to explore the traditional areas of Seoul. Begin the day at the changing of the guard ceremony at Gyeongbokgung Palace. Explore ancient courtyards, incredible architecture and beautiful gardens. Walk through the perfectly preserved Hanok Village before exploring the bustling Insadong Art Street. Later, head on a street food tour on the iconic Gwangjang Market and sample some of the best street food South Korea has to offer.

Day 5: Geumsunsa Temple

Today you’ll head out of the bustling city and into the serene mountain regions outside of Seoul. Discover beautifully decorated working temples and shrines. Experience temple life as you participate in a singing bowl meditation, bell tolling, and prayer chanting. Eat a Buddhist dinner before sitting down with a monk for tea and the opportunity to ask any burning questions. Spend the evening resetting and recharging before the next part of your adventure.

Day 6: Discover Jeonju

Enjoy a Buddhist meal for breakfast before waving goodbye to your mountainous retreat. Head to the small city of Jeonju and discover its famous food and drink scene. Explore the perfectly preserved villages before checking into your wooden Hanok guesthouse. Spend the afternoon exploring at your leisure and meet your travel group later for a rice wine (also known as Makgoli) tasting session.

Day 7: Gyeongju Bike Tour & Historical Sites

Wave goodbye to Jeonju and head on to the ancient capital of Gyeongju, also known as the “Museum Without Walls.” With numerous UNSECO World Heritage Sites including ancient temples and royal tombs, there’s so much to explore! Freshen up at the hostel before heading on bikes to explore the town. Discover the historical sites and unparalleled scenery from 2 wheels. Later, head to Anapji Pond and marvel at the incredible reflections on the water.

Day 8: Gyeongju Bulguksa Temple

After breakfast, head to the Bulguksa Temple. Surrounded by dense forest and incredible landscapes, this temple is a true architectural masterpiece. Later, visit a Dojang to learn the art of Taekwondo. Professionals will teach you how to master the high kicks, fast punches, and quick movements. In the evening, join your travel group to explore some of the bars and restaurants in the old town.

Day 9: Busan Markets & Cable Car

Today you will head to Busan, a city surrounded by beaches and jaw-dropping mountains. Check out the famous Jagalchi market and shopping district before heading on the Songdo cable car to see the incredible views of the water and city. Spend the afternoon as you please, you may choose to visit the Gamcheon Cultural Village or bathe in a jjimjibang (public bathhouse)- it’s up to you! In the evening, head to the city’s nightlife district and sing the night away in a karaoke room with the rest of your travel group.

Day 10: Travel to Jeju Island

Wave goodbye to your fellow travellers who were part of the 10-day tour. Continue your adventure by heading to the famous volcanic island of Jeju. You have a free morning before flying to Jeju and arriving in the early afternoon. Check in and get ready for a few days of epic exploration!

Day 11: Explore Jeju Island

After breakfast, take private transport to the incredible Yakcheonsa Temple. Admire the jaw-dropping architecture and learn about the local spring known for its healing properties. Later, visit the famous Seongsan Ilchulbong for unbeatable views and, before leaving, visit the unique volcanic rock formations of the Daepo Jusangjeolli Cliffs. After lunch, visit one of the local beaches or waterfalls and, in the evening, head to The Cliff for sunset drinks and ocean views.

Day 12: Hikes & Waterfalls

Today, walk the incredible Olle trail with spectacular ocean views, dramatic rock formations, and small villages dotting the hike. Stop at the famous 23 metre Jeongbang Waterfall and then spend the afternoon exploring at your own pace with the rest of your travel crew. Enjoy a big farewell dinner to wave goodbye to Jeju and South Korea.

Cancellation between 60 days or more before departure: lifetime deposit held.

Between 59-30 days before departure: 50% cancellation fee.

Do I need to reconfirm my bookings?

All bookings must be reconfirmed 48 hours in advance by contacting your tour provider directly using the contact information listed on your tour voucher.

What should I do if my trip is cancelled due to bad weather?

You may either re-schedule directly with the supplier or you can email our support team on [email protected] and include your voucher number, name of product you booked, planned departure date and your contact details. Once you’ve emailed us, you can drop us a line at +61 2 5633 1149.

Do you book tours with flexible dates? If so, how long are they valid for?

Yes, we do have open dated/flexible tickets available. Most tour vouchers are valid for 12 months from date of purchase, however please be aware that you may be subject to supplier price fluctuations. All ticket validity is specified on the tour voucher. If you are unsure of the validity of your voucher, just ask one of our wonderful staff.

What do I do if I need help with an existing booking?

Some tours have extra costs and you should be aware that there may be added expenses. These expenses will differ for each service provider, but some of the more usual extras are: EMC tax, stinger suit hire, luggage storage, sleeping bag hire, linen hire, national park fee, food, insurance, accommodation, equipment hire, petrol levy, etc. We will alert you to extra costs to the extent reasonably practicable. However, you must also check with each individual service provider when you re-confirm your booking.

Do I need travel insurance?

We endorse the recommendation of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade that all travellers take out travel insurance. If you already have travel insurance, please understand that it is your responsibility to ensure that your travel insurance covers you for all of the adventure style travel you have booked with us.

Do you offer payment plans?

Absolutely, we understand that paying off a big trip in one go isn’t always that easy. We offer flexible payment plans to suit all types of travellers with zero interest or fee’s (minimum $100AUD deposit required).

How do I know if my trip is BYO?

Most tour vouchers will specify if your trip is BYO however we recommend asking your tour provider if your trip is BYO when you reconfirm your booking 48 hours prior to departure.
