3 Day 2 Night Fraser Island Tour With Pippies
From $539pp

This tour is a full-on nature Fraser adventure tour so you’ll experience the best that Fraser Island has to offer with the beauty of having a local guide to show you around.

The business is family owned and operated too, so from start to finish you’ll be made to feel like one of the crew. Expect a full-on 4-wheeling, beach driving, dune climbing, lake swimming, beach camping, BBQ-ing, sunbaking, and rainforest walking experience. All the -ing’s you can think of. You’ll cruise across to K’Gari island from Inskip point in Rainbow Beach with the rest of your group on big-rig Landcruiser 4WD’s as you start the ultimate Fraser Adventure tour.

After making your way to the island, you’ll have three days and two nights to explore, camp, and relax with everything you could need, taken care of by the tour company. Staying at a pre-set camp means there won’t be any time spent setting up, and more time to cook up a huge BBQ with your group while you enjoy a couple of sunset drinks. You’ll then visit all the best locations Fraser Island has to offer on this tour. Everything from Lake Mckenzie to Eli Creek, and Maheno Shipwreck to Indian head.

So, if you’re looking for an all-inclusive on-a-budget 3-day Fraser Island camping adventure, then look no further than Pippies Fraser Island Tour. Furthermore you can optionally add on  2 nights of accommodation (one before your trip, and one after) in Rainbow Beach for some much needed small town relaxation.

Trip Intinerary

Fraser Island Tour Itinerary

You must attend a compulsory 6pm safety briefing in Rainbow Beach the night before your upcoming Fraser Island tour. You will need to organise a night of accommodation in Rainbow Beach, we reccommend staying at Pippies Hostel before and after your tour.

Day 1: Rainbow Beach

Make your way up to Rainbow Beach and check into your beachfront accommodation! You’ll be staying at this hostel for a total of 2 nights, one before and one after your Fraser Island tour – with daily free guided walks to the Carlo Sandblow and free breakfasts. In the evening, you’ll attend a compulsory 6pm safety briefing at your hostel for your upcoming Fraser Island adventure.

Day 2: Fraser Island

Take the ferry over to the island. Drive up the 75 mile beach to Eurong where you head inland towards Lake McKenzie. Arrive at Lake McKenzie and take a dip in these incredibly pure, clear waters. Drive to Central Station where you eat lunch, walk along the waters of the very special Wanggoolba Creek, and learn Fraser Island’s history. You then leave for a drive back to 75-mile beach and onto your camp. Arrive at your incredible campsite and hang out after a long day or head up to Corrigin Sandblow for an amazing sunset.

Dinner time! Cook a BBQ together with your new Fraser family and spend the night socialising together next to a campfire or under the covered seating area.

Meal(s) included : Lunch, Dinner

Day 3: Fraser Island

Wake up early and enjoy breakfast with everyone. Arrive at the Champagne Pools to cleanse under waves crashing over into the natural rock pools, creating the bubbles where it gets its name. Then back to the cars again for a short drive to your next destination. Climb the stunning Indian Head (one of the few rock formations on the island) to spot the amazing marine wildlife that can be seen off of Fraser Island. If luck is on your side, you can normally spot: humpback whales (August – October), sharks, sea turtles, dolphins, huge rays, and many schools of tropical fish.

Next, a drive back to your camp for lunch and then onto our next location. A short drive down the beach is the largest creek on the eastern beach; Eli Creek. Take a walk up the boardwalk with a rubber ring and float down these serene waters, which pumps up to 4 million litres of fresh water into the sea every hour. The second to last location of the day is a short drive from Eli Creek and your camp; the Maheno shipwreck. As the sun lowers in the sky, watch the rusty wreck against the sea sky and incredible coloured sands seen up the coast.

Finally, a short stop at the Pinnacles on the way back to your camp. Seen from the beach, this sand formation is a prime example of the coloured sands seen up and down the Fraser coastline. Arriving back at your camp to take a breather after an amazing day, wash away the sand in the amazing amenities block just a short walk from the campsite…… then more food! As part of your Fraser family you cook spaghetti bolognese together with garlic bread followed by another night of socialising under some of the southern hemisphere’s most spectacular stars.

Meal(s) included : Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4: Fraser Island/Rainbow Beach

Wake up for your last day on Fraser to another quick and simple breakfast before setting off to our final location on the island. Drive a moderate distance down the Eastern Beach to the entrance of Lake Wabby. Here we will walk for around 40-45 mins down a beautiful sand track through the bush and out onto the Hammerstone Sandblow. Located a short walk along the sand blow, Lake Wabby is the deepest lake on Fraser Island, so be sure to take a dip in its healing waters and chill next to its shores.

After our lunch on the beach, it is time to make our way back to the barge and Rainbow Beach. Arrive back at your hostel in Rainbow Beach between 1pm and 4:30pm, (depending on the tides), and hang out for one last night with your new Fraser family or carry on your journey.

There is definitely no wrong way. We recommend either taking a WHIMIT or Hop on Hop off bus pass such as Greyhound or renting a campervan with some mates and hitting the open road.
