This tour was awesome! Dave and Joe took great care of us and we had so much fun! Dave was really great with guiding us in driving the 4WD, to make sure we felt comfortable and confident, but he still allowed us to be really independent with it (and we got lots of positive encouragement!) The island is beautiful and I would definitely recommend this!!

the sand dunes near lake wabby are brilliant. you hike up through the sand and then look down at this beautiful green lake below you. you can run down and jump in. Rhett took us there on day two as a bit of a hidden gem and it was brilliant. lake mckenzie is obviously the main event but lake wabby deserves more credit.

had a really great time on the dingos tour. lake mckenzie was breathtaking, eli creek was brilliant fun and Lee was an excellent guide. only giving four stars because the tents were a bit warm on the second night. but the island itself is absolutely stunning and three days is the perfect amount of time.

the safety briefing in rainbow beach before departure is really thorough and Wade made sure everyone felt confident with the 4wd driving before we got on the ferry. on the island itself the driving was brilliant fun and never felt unsafe. lake mckenzie was the obvious highlight but the whole three days were incredible.

lake mckenzie justifies the whole trip on its own honestly. if you went there and came straight back it would still be worth it. but then you also get eli creek, champagne pools, indian head, the maheno shipwreck, dingoes, rainforest, and three nights camping on the eastern beach. Aidan was excellent throughout.

lake mckenzie is unlike any lake ive ever seen. the water is so clear you can see every grain of sand below and the colour is this perfect aquamarine. the white silica sand beach around it is also stunning. Dave explained why the water stays so pure. we swam for ages and it was one of the best swimming experiences of my life.

lake mckenzie was the most beautiful swimming spot ive ever been to and i dont think that will change anytime soon. the colour of the water, the white sand, the complete serenity of it. the trip was fantastic overall. central station rainforest blew my mind. you walk in and its this completely different world, massive ancient fig trees, crystal clear streams, birdsong everywhere. completely different to anything else on the island. Aidan was so knowledgeable about the rainforest ecology. lake mckenzie and eli creek were also incredible.

the sand blow at lake wabby was brilliant. you hike up through massive sand dunes that are slowly encroaching on the lake below. then you run down and jump in the beautiful green water. Rhett took us there as an extra stop and it was fantastic. lake mckenzie and eli creek were the main highlights but lake wabby was a great bonus.

the three days flew by and i wished it was longer. Rhett packed so much in without it ever feeling rushed. lake mckenzie, eli creek, the rainforest, champagne pools, indian head, the maheno. all the highlights covered with plenty of time at each one. the camping and food were also excellent. perfect trip.

the food on a camping trip is usually the weak point but not here. Wade and the dingos team cook proper meals every night and the lunches during the day are also really good. after a big day of driving and swimming in lake mckenzie and eli creek you sit down to a proper cooked dinner. just brilliant.

the wildlife encounters on this trip made it extra special. dingoes spotted on day two, a massive goanna in the campsite, rays visible from indian head lookout, heaps of birds throughout. Dave was so knowledgeable about all the wildlife and made sure we had brilliant encounters while being respectful of the animals.

arrived at rainbow beach the night before not knowing anyone and left three days later with a group of mates. the dingos tour format is just perfect for solo travellers. Amy makes sure everyone is included and the shared driving and camping experience bonds people really quickly. lake mckenzie and the beach driving were incredible.

driving your own 4wd down 75 mile beach is genuinely one of the most thrilling things ive done. the ocean right there, the speed, the freedom of it. the champagne pools are such an underrated spot compared to lake mckenzie. natural rock pools right on the ocean, waves crashing over the rocks and into the pools. you swim in protected sea water with incredible views. Lee told us the geological history of how they formed. indian head lookout nearby was also incredible.

the three day format is definitely the right way to do this. you get to see absolutely everything without feeling rushed. indian head is one of the best viewpoints in australia. you climb up and look down into crystal clear water and can see sharks, rays and turtles just moving around below you. completely wild. Dave knew exactly where to spot them and pointed out three sharks while we were up there. then champagne pools right next door. incredible day.

the dingoes we spotted on the second morning were incredible. a mother and two pups just trotting along the beach totally unbothered. Rhett pulled the convoy over and we all watched quietly for ages. then lake mckenzie that morning was also just stunning. those two moments alone made the whole trip for me.

came solo and this trip gave me the best group of travel friends. you spend three days driving together, eating together and camping together so you get to know people really well. lake mckenzie water is just something else. it looks like the kind of colour you see on caribbean holiday adverts but here it is on a sand island in queensland. completely fresh water, perched high up on the island, and surrounded by brilliant white sand. Pete explained how the lake stays so clear. absolutely incredible.

lake mckenzie is one of those places where you just sit at the edge of the water and feel genuinely at peace. the colour is this perfect clear aquamarine and the white sand beach around it is stunning. the social side of a dingos tour is just as good as the island itself. you meet people on the ferry, spend three days driving and exploring together, eat together every night, and camp together. Aidan creates such a brilliant group atmosphere. came solo and left with a group of friends im still in touch with.

lake mckenzie on the morning of day one is just the perfect introduction to the island. you arrive and immediately get to swim in this stunning clear lake surrounded by white sand. Amy gave us plenty of time there before moving on. the rest of the trip was equally brilliant but that first lake mckenzie moment is special.

central station rainforest blew my mind. you walk in and its this completely different world, massive ancient fig trees, crystal clear streams, birdsong everywhere. completely different to anything else on the island. Arty was so knowledgeable about the rainforest ecology. lake mckenzie and eli creek were also incredible.

the food was a real highlight of this trip. Pete and the dingos team put on brilliant meals every night, proper cooked food with heaps of options. combined with the incredible island scenery, lake mckenzie, eli creek, seeing dingoes in the wild and driving the beach this is just a perfect three days.

came solo and was a bit nervous but within the first few hours had made loads of great friends. the tag along format means you are always travelling in a convoy with the whole group and Wade creates a brilliant atmosphere. three days on the worlds largest sand island with great people is just perfect.

every single day of this trip had at least one moment that stopped me in my tracks. day one lake mckenzie, day two indian head and the sharks below, day three driving the inland tracks. Wade structured the itinerary brilliantly and always had something special in store. the camping and food were also excellent.

the champagne pools at high peak island were a highlight i wasnt expecting to love as much as i did. natural rock pools right on the ocean edge, waves crashing over the rocks. you swim in protected sea water with this incredible backdrop. Aidan timed our visit perfectly and we had the pools almost to ourselves.

the diversity of landscapes on this island is incredible. you go from driving along the beach with the ocean right there, to ancient rainforest, to perched freshwater lakes with white sand beaches, to sand dunes and blows. Benny covered all of it over three days. lake mckenzie was the standout but honestly every spot was beautiful.

came on this solo and was a bit nervous but Amy made everyone feel so welcome from the safety briefing in rainbow beach. by the time we got on the ferry to the island i already felt like i was with mates. the three days were just incredible. lake mckenzie, the beach driving, the dingoes. brilliant experience.

the camping on the eastern beach was so much better than i expected. hot showers, proper facilities, and waking up with the sound of the ocean right outside your tent. Wade had the whole camp set up sorted and the food was genuinely really good. lake mckenzie on day one was stunning.

Benny explained all about them and said they are completely harmless and just looking for food scraps. then a family of dingoes spotted on the beach that afternoon. the wildlife on this island is just incredible.

Rhett was a knowledgeable guide. giving four stars because the campsite in the evenings got quite loud and sleep was a bit difficult on night one. but the days were absolutely fantastic.

the moment that stood out most for me was spotting a family of dingoes on the second morning. Benny pulled the convoy over and we all watched quietly as they moved along the beach. just wild animals living their life completely unbothered. seeing them in their natural habitat is something you just cant replicate.

the maheno shipwreck combined with indian head lookout on day two made it the best day of the tour for me. the shipwreck is incredibly atmospheric, rusting and massive on the beach. then the lookout has incredible views down into the water where you can spot sharks and rays. Chloe was brilliant at both spots.

the interior of the island through the rainforest is so atmospheric. dense canopy above you, the track is bumpy and muddy in places, and then you suddenly come out onto the beach. Wade explained the different ecosystems as we drove through them. central station in particular was just stunning. lake mckenzie was also brilliant as expected.

lake wabby is a real hidden gem on this island. the walk through the massive sand blow to get there is incredible, just these huge sand dunes stretching out. then you get to the edge and look down at this beautiful green lake below. Rhett took us there on the second afternoon. lake mckenzie is obviously the headline but lake wabby is stunning too.

we spotted four dingoes over the three days which everyone was so excited about. Wade was brilliant at spotting them and making sure we kept a safe distance while still getting great views. the island wildlife is just incredible. lake mckenzie was also the most beautiful lake ive ever seen. brilliant trip.

the tag along format is great because you get the freedom of driving your own vehicle but with the security and knowledge of a brilliant guide. lake mckenzie deserves every bit of its reputation. standing at the edge of that lake and seeing how clear the water is, you genuinely cannot believe it is real. the white sand, the aquamarine colour, the complete stillness of it.
