Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best time of year to go to Cambodia?

The country is warm all year round, but the cool season from November to February is the peak season and is considered to be the best time to visit due to its mild temperatures. From March to May it is much hotter, but still good to travel. The rainy season is from June to October, however with so many waterfalls and jungles to explore, rain only brings more lushness.

What is the best way to meet people in Cambodia?

If you’re travelling solo, the best ways to meet new people are hostels and group tours! Most hostels you stay in will have a very social vibe, or even a bar or two attached. However, we find that joining a group tour allows you to make deeper connections with your travel mates, and you’ll be leaving with friends for life.

What should I bring to Cambodia?

It’s a good idea to pack for sunshine and rain when visiting Cambodia. Expect to visit cities, jungles, and islands. There are also so many temples to explore here, so be sure to pack something that covers your shoulders and knees to respect the local culture when visiting temples.

What currency is used in Cambodia?

Whilst the Cambodian riel is the official currency of Cambodia, the USD is widely accepted and often preferred. Any ATM in Cambodia will dispense USD and you can usually go your entire trip without needing any Cambodian Riel.
